The UN General Assembly on Wednesday demanded by a wide margin that Russia immediately and unconditionally return all Ukrainian children who have been forcibly transferred or deported since the start of the war.The draft resolution during the emergency special session was approved by 91 votes in favour, 12 against and 57 abstentions, surpassing the required two-thirds majority of members present and voting.
The resolution expresses deep concern about the fate of Ukrainian children separated from their families since 2014 – when Moscow annexed Crimea – including those transferred within occupied Ukrainian territory and those deported to Russia.
It describes these acts as violations of the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the forcible transfer or deportation of protected persons from occupied territory.

My nice Ukrainian neighbbors have grandchildren born here. Even the the five-year-old speaks both English and Russian, the language of Ukraine. I had no idea that Russia was a child-abusing nation.

When you forcibly kidnap children from their parents and prevent them from contacting their parents ever again - that is the child abuse. Actually it’s worse.

Ukrainian authorities have verified the identities of over 19,000 children, while the actual number is estimated to be significantly higher.

He (America) voted FOR the resolution.
He wouldn’t have done that if there wouldn’t be any proof of Russia committing those crimes. The proof is massive and overwhelming.

There is a fair amount of human trafficking that has gone on with Ukrainians sold abroad, but this fake news has nothing to do with it and will do nothing to solve it. Demanding that Russia surrender minor citizens of the annexed territories to aggressor states to be sent abroad from their homeland IS the real trafficking that needs to be blocked. Congrats on identifying yourself as a supporter of child trafficking!

The proclamations of the UN General Assembly are analagous to a "sense of the Senate" or House vote in the U.S. Congress. It is a feel good proclamation from a body with no enforcement mechanism. UN enforcement authority resides solely within the UN Security Council, and any grant of such authority requires a unanimous vote. Permanent members have a veto.
If there was a Ukrainian civilian capable of caring for a child or children, the Russian troops would have just moved on.
