"You know, when I was in this office and I talked about no cards. I said: 'you have no cards.' That was the time to settle. I thought that would've been a much better time to settle. But they, in their wisdom, decided not to do that. They have a lot of things against them right now."

no need for us to be there. Not one more penny, not one more bullet. in fact, they need to start paying us back yesterday. With interest. Mass deport the illegals. I voted for Trump 3 times to do these things. The stuff he talked about every 5 minutes at his rallies when we all clapped and cheered. Three years or so left. Trump’s doing well, but he could do better. Just roll over these clowns and ignore the judges.

At this point it looks extremely unlikely that the president will authorize any more money.

The EU may. It’s pretty clear that maneuvers are being contorted and stretched and probably legal actions will be taken to steal the Russian assets that are on deposit at Euroclear. Their choice is that or persuade the ECB, or order the ECB, to just create money and send it to Ukraine. Or they could budget for it across the entirety of countries and run deficits and send that money to Ukraine.

It is my understanding that that option requires unanimity of all of their countries and they cannot get that.

Christine lagarde has made it pretty clear that the maneuvers to steal the Russian assets will never survive any sort of legal scrutiny. Other folks in Europe have agreed with her and the EU will probably try to pass laws to immunize each of them individually from any legal repercussions, which could extend to jail, and proceed to pretend that the European legal system is the only one they have to deal with. The Lagarde and others have gone public to inform them that even the European legal system will find them guilty. So, that’s the impetus behind trying to pass laws to immunize themselves collectively and individually from many legal repercussions.

It looks like quite a stretch.

It gets worse when Asian courts become involved because Euroclear has branches outside Europe. That’s the sort of thing that would make international travel by the EU officials pretty much impossible for fear of arrest if they venture anywhere into Asia.

There is another issue here and that is President Trump has access to the satellite reconnaissance imagery and he has reached a point where Tulsi Gabbard’s people at NRO are finally the source of information for the president to prioritize over European or Ukrainian claims.

The next step would be, and it’s essentially low risk, to inform the EU that if they proceed to steal the Russian assets and Russia begins to seize ships, perhaps LNG ships that are European flagged and confiscate the contents, then Trump will not agree with them if they claim that is an attack on a NATO country and triggers article 5.

Trump will conclude properly that they brought it on themselves.

“Steal Russian assets”
You mean like invading a sovereign country and stealing their lands and resources, killing their citizens and destroying their infrastructure?

Perfect

Article V, first of all, does not obligate the US to do anything other than to “consider appropriate steps” to aid in the common defense”.

And, second of all, for all the Euros itching to play “Let’s you and him fight”, we are not interested and we will refuse to play.

You're obviously too simple to understand that grabbing funds/assets deposited in good faith undermines currencies and, by extension, the entire western banking system.

It's not all Russian government money either. Much is from legit international businesses - except their versions of Elon Musk and Bill Gates are labeled "oligarchs" as justification.

Hence global smart money simply looks for alternatives to western currencies and banks, at a time when currencies are spiraling and confidence is needed most.

It is a foregone conclusion that the Russian assts held by the west will be used as reparations to rebuild Ukraine.

I agree. I don’t want to fight anyone else’s wars and I don’t want to fund those wars.

I see a different outcome, not as “ generous”. With St Z playing more games and not signing Trump’s Peace deal , they cease to exist in it’s present form.

“ECB will not back EU loan to Ukraine funded by frozen Russian assets in Belgium”

The European Central Bank (ECB) has refused to provide a backstop for a €140 billion ‘reparations loan’ to Ukraine funded by frozen Russian assets held in Belgium, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

At the onset of Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, the EU froze around €210 billion worth of Russian assets. Most of these assets (approximately €190 billion) are housed at Brussels-based financial clearing house Euroclear....

Even the ECB knows seizing ( stealing) a sovereign nations funds will destroy all trust in their financial institution. Who will buy their bonds knowing they can be stolen?

Am I Too simple, refute my points?

Would you have been so concerned for nazi german assets world wide?

One of many mistakes pitin made, leaving assets around the world which gives even more evidence that Pitin thought the war would be short and only a strongly worded letter would be west’s response

The fool Ukrainians trusted the homosexual Obama and the filthy skank Victoria Nuland. They needlessly provoked Russia (by demanding to be a member of NATO) and got invaded as a result.

If Ukraine had stuck with Viktor Yanukovych instead of Obama’s puppet, the invasion would never have happened and Ukraine would still have Crimea. You chose poorly. /spit
