MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, a controversial election denier and supporter of President Trump, has taken steps toward trying to become the governor of Minnesota in next year's midterm elections.
State records show paperwork has been filed signaling Lindell may soon announce a statewide run.
Lindell told CBS News in a phone call that he has not 100% decided on a gubernatorial run but wanted to file paperwork in case he does commit. He said earlier this year that he would run as a Republican. He said he will further discuss his potential run at a press conference scheduled for next week.

That certainly seemed to be the case right after the 2020 presidential election.
I recall him talking about how close he was to uncovering voter fraud. I have no doubt that there was fraud. But it also seemed like Lindell was being taken for a ride.
“Just another $250,000 Mike and we’ll get all the evidence we need.”
His heart is in the right place. Unfortunately, his head isn’t.
It was beyond naive. It was the Mount Everest of stupid. Never had a snowball’s chance in hell of being successful, and even the most casual due diligence would have confirmed that conclusion. There’s about a 90% chance we’re going to get creamed in that election anyway, but him as the standard bearer takes it to 98%. He’ll be pilloried on his monumental foolishness every single day
