In a development that has rattled European capitals and raised alarms across NATO, the Pentagon has abruptly halted its working-level communications with Germany’s Defense Ministry, effectively severing one of the alliance’s most important military coordination channels. The revelation, reported by The Atlantic, comes from German Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, who described the sudden silence from Washington as both unprecedented and deeply worrying.
According to Freuding, communications that once flowed freely “day and night” between U.S. and German military officials have now been cut off entirely. Messages go unanswered. Routine coordination has stopped. And Germany — a central pillar of Europe’s defense architecture — finds itself resorting to embassy intermediaries in Washington simply to identify someone at the Pentagon willing to speak.
This is not a bureaucratic glitch. It is a deliberate strategic message.
A Sudden Silence, A Strategic Signal
Freuding, who previously headed Germany’s Ukraine Coordination Unit and is now expected to become the next chief of the German Army, described the shift as a “severed — really cut off” break in communication. This freeze impacts everything from logistics coordination to intelligence sharing and military planning — areas where U.S.-German cooperation has historically been essential.

The Germans have had enough of the war also. Their economy is in ruins, because of the U.S. when we blew up the Nordstream Pipelines, their source of cheap gas from Russia. What they want is good relations with Russia again and trade.
They may end being the ones to drop out of NATO and the EU which will bring the whole thing down.

At this point the war in Ukraine is pretty much over, mopping up by the Russians, battlefield war could be over in 2 months.

Basically we’re saying that if Germany feels like starting another World War, in this case with Russia (as they have been yapping about for weeks), we will NOT have anything to do with it, including providing intelligence to them.
Basically, the same approach we took with the Germans 85 years ago...some things never change.

Cannot speak for the Neocons, but for Trump’s base, they are TOTALLY SICK of Ukraine, given all of their corruption (for starters), and could care less less as to how the war ends, as long as we get out before it goes nuclear.

Per our discussion yesterday. if that leak in the WSJ did come from the German side, this cutoff would make a lot more sense.
After WWI, the U.S., Britain and France allowed Germany to borrow money from their banks. They never paid the full amount back.
It took them almost 100 years to pay off their WWI reparations.
In 2014, NATO members agreed to fund 2% of their GDP for their own defense. It took Germany until 2024 to reach that goal. That's 10 years!! Now it's 5%. How long will it take them to reach that percentage?

A dream I had back in the 80’s, with all those beginning EU things not jelled yet ...German military, Italian papacy/,ye olde kingmaker, Brussels legislators.The whole group manufactured war materiel for Germany, all others were just support. The EU vision was continental, UK not even in apparition, to be seen.Russia could be heard in anger,even the German tank commander stopped the tank to look Eastward through his field glasses in search of the noise.

Bond issues arose in 1929....so the deal was re-written...by four primary banks: Lee, Higginson & Co. (U.S.), Baring Brothers (UK), Mendelssohn & Co. (Germany), and Rothschild houses (UK/France).
Because of the Wall Street collapse in 1929, and evolving German gov’t collapse 1931/32/33....reparations halted for roughly for 15 years.
