The grants were administered through the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) and intended to cover medical care, mental health programs, and other support services for the Afghan arrivals.
USCRI describes its mission as promoting “cultural pluralism” and encouraging immigrants to maintain their languages and cultures while participating in American life.

Note that refugees are encouraged "to maintain their languages and cultures" rather than to learn English and assimilate into American society.
The real goal seems to be to create tribes with special interests that can swing elections to Democrats. An example is the 80,000 Somalis in Minnesota. Politicians, including Gov. Walz ignored the fraud warnings for fear of political repercussions from the Somali community. As a result, taxpayers have been ripped off a billion dollars or so, part of which many have went to the Somali terror group al Shabaab.
USCRI sounds like a big waste of money, time to get rid of it.

When they start sending refugees and building low cost efficiency apartments in these neighborhoods, then they can talk.
Until then, they should shut up and do with the rest of us as they do for themselves keeping their neighborhood clean, safe, and pretty by keeping the riffraff out.

To be fair, illegal immigrates were sent to Martha’s Vineyard. The residents welcomed them with joy and open arms!
Then they called the governor and had the illegals removed.

About 1/3 of the students that go to my neighborhood elementary school are from Afghanistan. Austin,Texas seems to have gained a lot of Iraqis, Afghanis, and Africans( I don’t know which country)

When I was visiting with him, he said recently a guy showed up at his door with $10k cash in his hand wanting to buy his goat…a sale was made.

Sadly, many middle class and poor neighborhoods, beat into a frenzy by the MSM and social media, support policies which bring criminals into their neighborhood, deplete the social services, and generally suppress wages.
