US President Donald Trump expressed optimism after a high-level meeting between US officials and a Ukrainian delegation in Miami on Sunday, suggesting there was a “good chance” of a deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Talks were “going along, and they’re going along well,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
“I think that there’s a good chance we can make a deal,” he added.
His comments came after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio cast the peace talks as fragile, and underscored that Russia would have a central role to play in any deal.

I’ve lost count on how many times we were close to a deal. The EU a-holes keep Zeke drugged with fairy takes so it goes on and on.
I’m plumb wore out worrying about other people’s problems. How bout we fix our own, and clean house. Z is not going to agree to anything as long as he believe there’s still grift to be had. Let them reap what they sow.
Trump is full of s***. He’s rapidly losing all credibility with the average person. I cannot believe he’s so stupid as to believe what he’s saying, the way he changes his message constantly.
Trust Putin? Sure but what if there’s a democrat in the WH? Our enemies encroached on Carter. World was more dangerous. Just remember Kamala the airhead got 48% of the vote.
Clean up our election process, back to paper ballots, vote on election day in person with ID and that problem will take care of itself.
This is a big deal...but it does take time.
Trump has said that numerous times before.
“This is a big deal...but it does take time.”
He needs to spend more time getting Meat prices down.
And domestic issues…

RE: Ukrainian delegation in Miami on Sunday, suggesting there was a “good chance” of a deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
I’m sorry, but if you’re only talking to one side and the other side ( read Putin ) isn’t there, I don’t think you can call it a “good chance”.
It would be like Jim Carey in the movie “Dumb and Dumber” asking his crush whether there’s at least a one in hundred chance of them being lovers and she replies “more like one in a million” and him jumping for joy because she’s telling him that there’s a chance. 😂 😝
We’ve heard this before. Instead of creating false hopes in foreign policy matters that he cannot control, Trump needs to get to work on ending the fillibuster snd getting his message out for the midterms.
We all miss Kamala! (/SS)
Yep we don’t care about this now. We care about doing what it takes to keep the House.
You have Russia, the US, Ukraine, EU all in this equation.
BUT, on the US and Russian side today, you have pragmatists.
Putin is entirely NOT the way presented. The guy is a calculator, not a lot of feelings or emotions go into his decision making. Then you have Trump, someone guided by a solid understanding of risk, ROI and cutting ones losses.
These are the sort of guys that rise above the feelings and emotions, the ideology and bred in hatred (you saw a lot of that towards Russia when this started - the immediate commie, Soviet, default).
They see the opportunity cost of not ending this.
Sure, Russia is “surviving” despite the sanctions, but instead of 1.2% growth mostly because of their war industry, they would be smashing through 3.0% or more this year.
The army of idiots around and under them are the problem. There are many folks that have pinned their reputation on this, that now economically benefit (even if the nation et. al. loses), that now feel they are settling old debts, or that want to prove they are relevant (think EU)...
I think Trump and Putin could likely settle this war in a matter of an hour. But you have the likes of Graham, McConnell... Legions of folks that would love to see this war go on in perpetuity even if the outcome was determined end of 2023. From that point on, Ukraine had no realistic chance of “winning.”
IMHO, Putin and Trump's true struggle is within their own ranks, opposition, etc. Advocating peace today gets you called weak, an appeaser, get accused of having misplaced loyalty... The opposition will pick you apart, your own party will have folks grandstand and throw you under the bus.
IMHO, Trump knows what Russia is willing to settle for. Putin knows what the US is willing to settle for. So where the hold up? How to navigate the minefield on ones own political stage in how to get there.
At least he is seeing things clearly. A deal without Russia onboard is doomed to failure.
Go stuff yourself newbie. What’s your Su password.
I sort of agree.I don’t care about 2 second World Nations when our fight is here.
Let them fight it out. Babies
Grow some balls.
