Donald Trump is reportedly eager to engage in business deals with Vladimir Putin as a way to end the war in Ukraine - hoping to bring billions of dollars from the Russian economy into America.
A report in The Wall Street Journal details how Trump's team - including his son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff - have been negotiating with Russia on how to 'bring their $2 trillion economy in from the cold'.
Witkoff reportedly hosted Kirill Dmitriev - Putin's 'handpicked' negotiator - and Kushner at a waterfront Miami Beach estate to draw up a plan to end the war, while also ensuring American businesses beat their European counterparts to making money once the conflict ended.
Dmitriev is said to have pushed for the $300 billion of Russian central bank assets frozen in Europe to be used for joint US-Russian investment projects, and a 'US-led reconstruction' of Ukraine.
There were also reportedly talks of pursuing a joint mission between Elon Musk's SpaceX and Russia to reach Mars, a far cry from the 'space race' of the 20th century.
Russia's strategy, according to the report, is to convince the Trump administration that they are a 'land of opportunity' - and not a threat.
The Kremlin reportedly hopes to 'reshape the economic map of Europe', while also creating friction between the US and its allies on the continent and beyond, potentially giving Putin the last laugh in negotiations.
'Russia has so many vast resources, vast expanses of land,' Witkoff told The Wall Street Journal.

“space missions with Russia to Mars... “
Did someone mention Mars? Elon and his faction are all in!
RUSSIA!, RUSSIA!, RUSSIA!…. MARS!, MARS!, MARS!
Thank you UK for keeping us informed.
The mainstream media will consistently attack and ridicule Trump’s efforts to bring peace to Ukraine, but he is the only person who can stop this pointless war.
I don’t think it’s a great idea to build up Russia’s economy. Look what happened with China. We “lifted them up,” and they are too uppity for their own good.
I’m afraid somehow, someway, the US is going to get stuck with paying for a large part of the bill for Ukraine reconstruction.
Q for the Daily Fail: Why has the UK been knowingly violating Russian energy sanctions all along...?
Russia wants its $300 billion back.
Companies and countries that choose to try to hurt the Russians and their economy are not welcome to come back.
Russians will handle their own mineral and oil extraction, refining and marketing.
“someway, the US is going to get stuck with paying for a large part of the bill for Ukraine reconstruction.”
Most of the destruction is in the areas now controlled by Russia and reconstruction will mainly be on Russian taxpayers.
Much of Ukraine was rebuilt after WW2 in Communist shoddy style. The buildings were of slum quality since the day the first tenant moved in.
Japan rebuilt itself using its own money and labor.
Its cities were mainly bombed and burnt to the ground by the USAAF.
A settlement will involve reparations.
For the sanctions to be removed, Mother Russia must relinquish all assets under western control beyond her borders. She must assign 25% of gross oil revenues for 50 years to the consortium of banks that provided the up front money to rebuild Ukraine.
No, Putin is the only one who can stop the war, and kissing his butt isn’t going to make that happen.
Maybe they hope to offer him a way to back down and save face at the same time, but I don’t think the Russians are going to play ball when they can wait Trump out and out and have their old Uranium One partners the Dems come back to power.
(((PING!)))
To be added to the zeeper follies pinglist,
ping me bro... we need laughter!
The Daily Mail!
You Putin puffers would not know truth if it jumped up and bit you in your ass.
