So the humble fishermen were drug dealers after all ...

As U.S. military operations continue on the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, taking out drug-smuggling boats, the left has been dining out on the absurd claim that the U.S. Navy's targets are nothing more than fishing boats, filled with humble fishermen. .

.

.

I'm not sure why they did this, but the Wall Street Journal decided to interview a few, and well, yes, they are drug dealers.

In reality, they make big money for their 'hauls' -- much more than they can make with fishing at sea, with payouts of $100,000 a haul, or as much as $10,000 a day for crew members, with pilots probably paid more.

Not in the AT article, but I'll say it. The WSJ admitted this, but on a low reading news day (yesterday on Thanksgiving).

If they were fishermen, the press crapweasels would be airing a never-ending parade of grieving widows crying “ay de mi” and rending their clothes 24/7.

LOL. What impoverished pescador owns a high speed cigarette boat with four Mercury V12 Verado 600 hp outboard motors, mounted side-by-side?

I did work for the coast guard for a bunch of years, modeling their core missions and these type of boats are a serious issue in their drug interdiction mission because they go a lot a faster than their cutters can (hence being called go-fast boats) which makes them very hard to interdict. They are absolutely not fishing vessels. Rand Paul is either ignorant or lying.

You look at what they are carrying, and you can blooming see it, and there is no doubt.

You do not go fishing in a open boat with bundles of neatly wrapped square bales.

If they saw any of the videos, they should be able to see that they were not fishing boats. Any one who has ever gone fishing or simply boating could tell the difference. The boats have many fuel tanks, multiple high horsepower engines, no outriggers, no fishing poles or equipment at all, and you do not catch fish at the speed they were moving.

And just as the camera showed the missile heading for the target boat it showed the “Bass Pro Shops” sticker and the missile was diverted into the open sea. Just fishing.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he’ll sit in a boat all day, drinking.

LOL

All the beer cans on the boats should be picked up by advanced sensors to distinguish drunken fishermen from skilled major drug suppliers.

To confuse the intelligence analysts, the boats use the name “SS Minnow” for all of them.

Do college guys still use that old slang term?

Before vulgar use in the US it was a term in Japan due to rows of prostitutes similar to rows of fish lined up when the fishing boats unloaded on the docks. Along with even more vulgar olfactory origins.

None every. I lived in Venezuela pre Chaves. On occasion I would go to close offshore Islands to just camp for a day or two. It was wonderful. Wife and I lay on the beach alone, fished, and enjoyed a paradise and cooked what I caught, but I did bring food if my fishing was not successful, but it was. It was paradise. The fisherman would pick us up to return to shore at the agreed time. Then I paid him. I much wish to return to Venezuela as the old man I am today and not my youth of many years ago. I wish to walk the streets of old and fond memories. I will when Venezuela is free. Venezuela was the most prosperous nation in Latin America then. Today it is a Marxist hell hole with little hope least regime change. I loved the Venezuela of old.
