Ukraine Says It Won’t Give Up Land to Russia

Volodymyr Zelensky, in the next phase of talks to end the war in Ukraine, intends to draw a red line at the most contentious issue on the table: the Russian demand for Ukraine’s sovereign territory. As long as he remains the nation’s president, Zelensky will not agree to give up land in exchange for peace, Ukraine’s chief negotiator, Andriy Yermak, told me today in an exclusive interview.

“Not a single sane person today would sign a document to give up territory,” said Yermak, who has served as Zelensky’s chief of staff, lead negotiator, and closest aide throughout the full-scale war with Russia.

“As long as Zelensky is president, no one should count on us giving up territory. He will not sign away territory,” he told me by telephone from Kyiv. “The constitution prohibits this. Nobody can do that unless they want to go against the Ukrainian constitution and the Ukrainian people.”

On the question of land, Ukraine is prepared to discuss only where the line should be drawn to demarcate what the warring sides control. “All we can realistically talk about right now is really to define the line of contact,” Yermak said. “And that’s what we need to do.”

The Ukrainian position for the next round of talks, which Yermak laid out for the first time, will sharply constrain the space available for negotiators to reach a peace deal. Russia has shown no willingness to back away from its demand for Ukrainian territory, including parts of the country that Russian forces do not control. Even though negotiators have made progress toward an agreement in recent days, they remain far apart on the crucial question of territory, where the Russian and Ukrainian positions appear difficult, if not impossible, to reconcile.

Notice how quiet the United States Senate has been about this new development in the Ukraine corruption scandal 🤔? Why? Because the U.S. Senate are recipients from the money laundering.

Zelensky and the EU have a plan that foment a military and economic crisis in the Ukraine to pressure Trump to restore US funding and weapons giveaways to Ukraine and also to get the US to directly intervene with US troops in Ukraine

President atrump is outmaneuvering them - so far, at least

At the top of the list of Senators it says “YEAs—70” for some unidentified vote on some unidentified legislation.

How does that prove the statement from @TheLastRefuge2— “Because the U.S. Senate are recipients from the money laundering.”?

[As I have stated before]

Zelensky might insist that:
1. the agreement should state that it is a long-term armistice meant to preserve human life and property and that no territory is to be considered as ceded or any claim to territory relinquished,
2. Ukraine be allowed to have an unlimited number of trained military personnel of Ukrainian citizenship, artillery pieces, artillery shells, anti-aircraft guns, anti-aircraft missiles of types now in its service and future equivalents, tanks and drones of a range of less than a certain number of kilometers,
3. monetary aid from the US and EU to enable Ukraine to retain in military service its battle-hardened military personnel,
[I suggest up to $12 billion/year, up to a total of $200 billion.]
4. the Ukrainian right to buy for source country money listed weapons [Patriots, anti-aircraft weapons, artillery shells, missiles] from the US, EU and possibly the UK at prices in line with what the source entity government(s) would pay, subject to such restrictions as the law of the EU itself may impose,
[That’s a security guarantee that I think EU citizens and Americans can live with.]
5. sanctions on Russia to be removed only after a certain period of Russian good behavior.

Both sides will insist that all POWs be yielded up within a period of time.

The front lines should those of any day after November 24th selected by Trump as justified by US intelligence evidence. The US should identify these lines to both parties ASAP so they can agree to them.

NOTE: I’m not sure Ukraine can hold off Russia in the Donbas at this stage of the war.

NOTE: To capture three third-rate cities probably isn’t worth the lives of ~20,000 Russian soldiers.

I think Russia was pretty clear: 'Either Ukraine Concedes Diplomatically, or We Will Win Militarily'

In my opinion a few years ago, Russia would eventually win the conflict, no matter whatever proposed 'wunderwaffe', 'ghosts of Kiev', 'price of eggs in Russia', reports from that Davidov (or whatever his name is) fellow, blown Nordstream pipelines, et cetera would be agitpropped.

Thank goodness USAID was hamstrung.

Then, Ukraine will lose everything east of the Dnieper river and, probably, Odessa.

There is no chance Russia is allowing a military threat on its border.

DC has been like a dog on a bone trying to get a North Korean style DMZ and frozen conflict. That allows them to start spending billions of dollars, even a couple of trillion rebuilding and rearming Ukraine. The rebuilding project and the new NATO build up inside Ukraine, by whatever name cannot start until they get their DMZ. Yet, they offer the Russians nothing in return for it. No end of sanctions, no repair of the Nord streamline, no return of deluded and confiscated golden currency worth hundreds of billions.
No return of air travel.

Nothing except our plaintiff whining to stop the killing as though DC cares about that whatsoever. To DC and London, it’s only about geopolitical power and money. Hell, they are the ones who started all the killing.

At this point it may not matter much what the Ukrainian government thinks about they way things ought to be.

The rest of the world wonders why they can’t see the way things are.
