Democrats’ Viral Video Lights Match to the Republic
RealClear Politics ^ | November 28, 2025 | J. Peder Zane

Despite stiff competition, the Democrats’ recent attack on President Trump may be their most dangerous to date.

The six members of Congress whose viral video told our armed forces that “you must refuse illegal orders” crossed a perilous line. By making every soldier a general, empowering them to decide whether they agree with their orders, their message opens a Pandora’s Box that undermines the chain of command, a foundation of military effectiveness. Stopping just short of inciting insubordination, it openly encourages dissent within the ranks and, in the process, empowers our adversaries.

Although the video tells service members, “We have your back,” it puts the troops at grave risk, and not only the ones who heed their ill-considered advice. Battlefields are not forums for constitutional debate about the limits of executive authority. They are for concerted, often lethal, action. The failure of even one warfighter to carry out the plan can mean the difference between life and death – for an entire unit.

The Democrats and their enablers are also threatening the careers of those they purport to be counselling. Very few service members have the educational background necessary to assess the legality of their orders. Nevertheless, by posting their video, the six Democrats are putting them on notice that they now have an obligation to make such decisions on every order they are given.

It gets worse. Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s invocation of the Nazi war crime trials at Nuremberg in explaining why she lent her voice to the video implies that if they reclaim the executive branch in the future, Democrats might stab service members in the back if they don’t follow her orders: If you carry out an order later deemed to be illegal, we might come after you. This puts members of the military in an impossible position: Refuse...

Sen. Elissa Slotkin?

Maybe the victims of the National Guard shootings/murders will run into Slotkin in public.

I don’t know how that ***** can show her face on the street.

Oh yeah. Slotkin, Kelly, et al will “have their back” if some young, stupid, impressionable serviceman refuses an order.

Truth is, they will be nowhere to be found, and that person is going to be on their own. Granted, if that person supports the likes of Slotkin, Kelly, et al then they shouldn’t be in the military, given the oath they took which they break by supporting Democrats.

This makes me angry in ways I cannot express.

Our lil democrat buddies were proposing mutiny to armed forces members of their persuasion. Put em in jail for the rest of their lives. Or hang them, after a fair trial of course (my favored position).

Slotkin and Kelly were both stolen elections and we will be stuck with these scumbags for years.

What were they thinking when they decided that only white people should be in their little video?

Twenty two monsters were found guilty at Nuremberg. The monsters weren't foot soldiers they were Hitler's top people. Democrats aren't just evil - they're also stupid and bullies. This video was designed to go after powerless people in our military. People who can be prosecuted for not following an order and who democrat filth want to be frighten of being prosecuted or following an order. A pox on the house of democrat filth.

Slotkin have YOU ever noticed your local newspaper doesn't quote cops below the Sargent level? It's because ever the biased hateful newspapers are many levels of decent above you and Brennan and other assorted intelligence scum of the earth.

Sooner or later their arrogance and smug sense of superiority is going to cause them to get too far ahead of their security. When that day comes I hope their Nakanwal is waiting.

Strange. I was taught that I had a moral and legal duty to refuse an "unlawful" order. Has that changed?
Does a soldier have to refuse to drive the wrong way down a one way street or make an illgal left turn in a battle zone?
I am so sick of these so called 'educated' people mixing and matching words. Words have meanings and consequences.

Yet servicemen refusing the illegal order to be injected with a poison were kicked out.

I meant to say, maybe the family members of the victims in the National Guard ambush shootings/murders will run into Slotkin in public.

After all, Senator Elissa Slotkin suggested that the National Guard might start randomly shooting at American civilians just a few days ago.

How is it possible these people can stay in power? They sound just like enemy agents concocting a plan to undermine and destabilize Trump and the entire country. This is a Senator? She needs to be removed very soon.
