The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Editorial Board rushed to the defense of Afghan refugees in an op-ed published on Thursday, saying they “shouldn’t be blamed for the violent act of one man.”
On Wednesday, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal — an Afghan national who came to the U.S. as part of former President Joe Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome in 2021 after the botched Afghanistan withdrawal — allegedly opened fire on two National Guardsmen stationed in Washington, DC. After the attack, President Donald Trump announced that his administration would “reexamine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan” under Biden. Following Trump’s remarks, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced an indefinite stop to immigration requests from Afghan nationals “pending further review of security and vetting protocols.”
The WSJ Editorial Board warned of issuing “collective punishment” following the attack.

So naturally Gigot's board got their pens a-writing at ANY criticism of our crazy immigration policies.
The WSJ, once a wide, thick, well-read paper, is now a thin rag.
The Murdochs own the WSJ and are big open borders people.
esad WSJ
Except for every Muslim fanatic who tries to kill us, there’s a thousand Muslims secretly cheering them on. So yeah, that’s a problem.
Same with the N.Y. Times and many other rags. Many people get their news from the net is one reason, their bs biased articles and outright lies are the others.
Why not? If one white guy acts up, they blame all white guys.
No one’s buying the ‘mostly peaceful’ BS any more.
Charlie Kirk warned us about this in August 2021, the Biden chaos was the usual Democrat political strategy wrapped in phony “humanitarian messaging.”
.........the feckless Biden duped Americans, laughably painting the Afghan evacuation as “compassionate”.............
Bleeding heart Biden said every Afghan went through strict vetting. Few believed it then, and it certainly rings hollow now............
Kirk saw deeper motives......the broader political ambitions of the bumble-headed Democrat chump....Biden.
It is not “collective punishment,” but rather prophylaxis.
“saying they ‘shouldn’t be blamed for the violent act of one man.’”
Funny how the media behaves in the opposite manner following an event like Columbine High School or Ecole Polytechnique or Marjory Stoneman or Sandy Hook, etc regarding law abiding and responsible firearms owners.
Eff the WSJ.They are spinnning this like they hate America.
This is not about blaming Afghan refuges.
Its about performing retroactive due diligence.
We find any that are a threat, we send them home.
Simple.
Uncontrived.
Accurate.
Necessary.
Time to boot out ALL expired visa holders!
the WSJ change is due to hiring from others’ layoffs the last few years. no one is blaming all Afghans. but it is irrational NOT to review and fix past reckless policies. obviously the enemy is within - and many are not assimilating. this endangers us all. POTUS is right on.btw no one can swear that Afghanistan keeps the sort of records needed for airtight vetting.
Yesterday there was a post telling how the Biden administration stopped vetting the Afghanis coming in because a huge percentage of them were deemed to be dangerous. IIRC, it was between 75% and 100%. Biden’s people just didn’t want to know.
So here we are, and we’re supposed to assume that all/most refugees shouldn’t be blamed? Do they thing we’re STUPID? Next month, it’ll be another one of them. And then another.
So many young American women already have been raped and/or murdered by these vile demons.
“Except for every Muslim fanatic who tries to kill us, there’s a thousand Muslims secretly cheering them on. So yeah, that’s a problem.”
I see it this way. Muslims are an ocean. Terrorists are sharks swimming in that ocean. The rest of us are swimming in their ocean. The thing is, we brought their ocean here. This is a problem we created.
Our CIA works with and uses terrorists and our politicians like Lindsey Graham think that’s a good idea. They used terrorists to change governments like the old one in Syria.
Waging war to ultimately defeat Iran justifies this in their minds IMHO.
This is pretty rich, given that Muslims blame all non-Muslims for everything. They’ll kill French people to avenge Chechens, Nigerians to avenge Iranians, Canadians to avenge “Palestinians,” Swedes to avenge Bosnians... they don’t care.
And sending money to provide the weapons.
