This is mind-blowing. Bernie Sanders in 2015: Open borders is a right-wing proposal. Immigration can make Americans poorer.
Of course by 2019 Bernie Sanders was saying the complete opposite because Bernie is a grifter.

2019 Bernie would call 2015 Bernie a racist and xenophobic.
IMHO Bernie has been mostly against open borders because he actually wants the socialist system to pretend to work. Almost like he’s a true believer in it. Unlike most of the Dims who push the Cloward-Pivens strategy of promoting socialism while also pushing open borders to intentionally destroy the system.
“The issue is never the issue.”
The Communists are further reproached for desiring to abolish countries and nationality. …Yeah, a right-wing proposal, Bernard? because RINOs proposed it? RINOs are of your ilk.
— Communist Manifesto, chapter 2
The nationalities of the peoples associating themselves in accordance with the principle of community will be compelled to mingle with each other as a result of this association and thereby to dissolve themselves, just as the various estate and class distinctions must disappear through the abolition of their basis, private property.
— The Principles of Communism, #22
Flipping more than a lumberjack’s pancake.
Yup. Bernie is a grifter and a sell-out. No respect for him.
The issue is never the issue..............
An ancient clock in a museum is right every century.
*sigh* looks like we’re the only ones who get it.
Exactly.
The environmental movement used to be strongly opposed to illegal (and even massive legal) immigration since of course more people equals more damage to the environment.
Those were the days...
This doesn’t surprise me.
The Left’s positions on every issue changed completely in 2015 - from whatever they were before that - to whatever is the opposite of DJT’s position.
Ant-open borders.
Anti-forever wars.
Anti-Corruption in Big Government, Big Pharma, Big Defense.
Anti-corporate lobbying.
Anti-censorship, ant-surveillance, anti-spying and data-gathering.
The Left campaigned against them all until President Trump cane along and campaigned against them - now they can’t get enough.
Oh.. and protective tariffs - it was always the Democrats pushing for Made in America - until Trump said it - now they’ve turned into globalist free traitors.
What happened is that Trump took that angle away from Bernie in 2015. The GOPe was all open borders for sure, then Trump dominated the field on a tough border control message.
So Bernie was left to totally go 180 degrees away from his original economic message because he couldn’t be seen to agree with Trump.
Bernie says a lot of interesting things, but he’s always been opposed to “open borders” and mass immigration.
It’s also interesting that Democratic Socialists end up on the same side as MAGA on many economic issues facing the working class, but neither side recognizes it.
Current year Bernie is a Democrat party liner, despite still having his own organization in Vermont. Because he's had his taste of Democrat graft.
And the Democrats are the anti-Trump by whatever means necessary party. All their previous ideological positions are subordinate to that.
A stopped clock may be right for a brief moment twice a day but a clock that is set wrong is always wrong.
Fake. AI generated.
I tried to put the Bernie quote up at MSN’s financial site. The censor is trying to decide if it should be allowed, heh.
“Fake. AI generated.”
I asked Copilot:
“Yes, Bernie Sanders has expressed views very close to that statement, though not in those exact words.
In a 2015 interview with Vox, Sanders said: “Open borders? That’s a Koch brothers proposal.” He argued that corporate interests support open borders because it would drive down wages for American workers.
He elaborated that allowing unrestricted immigration could hurt U.S. workers economically, suggesting that mass immigration could make Americans poorer by increasing labor competition.”
