This one is a must win.
This is really important. Leftists are spending big bucks on this because they believe Republicans will be too lazy too go out and vote. The Democrat is a freaking commie who has never had a real job and been supported by mommie and daddy. If you live there and don’t vote you are sick lazy piece of s¥it.
Who Will Win?
Based on polls, ratings, early trends, and historical precedents in R+22 districts, Matt Van Epps (R) is the strong favorite to win by 5-10 points. Behn has narrowed the gap through urban turnout and national D energy, but low special election participation and the district's rural tilt make a flip unlikely—though a close loss (under +10) would be a moral victory for Democrats heading into 2026. If turnout surges in Nashville/Clarksville, Behn could surprise, but data doesn't support it yet.
Was that a red seat and is this a special election to replace a resignation or death?
Red seat.
Resignation.
State Rep. Aftyn Behn (D-Nashville) hates her some country music, pedal taverns and our “racist state” but has no problem disrupting ICE operations, protesting for PRIDE, promoting self-abortions via fetus-killing drugs and supporting “gender affirming care” (snippety snip). She even included men among people who can become pregnant.
This former social worker and community organizer wants to fight Trump’s “Big Ugly Bill”, roll back tariffs and modify the Affordable Care Act rather than fix or replace it. She has endorsements from Jasmine Crockett, Pamila Jayapal, Kamala Harris and David Hogg of the DNC. Groups include Congressional Progressive Caucus, Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, Equity Alliance Fund, Progressive Democrats of America and the Knoxville Democratic Socialists of America. (”She’s red, Jim.”)
My question is: does she stand a chance winning the huge 7th District that runs all North and South just west of Nashville that Marsha Blackburn had for many years? Her opponent Matt Van Epps (LTC National Guard, Special Operations Helicopter Pilot, BA from West Point, Masters in Public Administration from UNC at Chapel Hill) has been serving as Commissioner of General Services after working in health care and veterans services. He’s endorsed by everyone who knows him and checks solid on every conservative issue. He forgoes the flash and charisma that attracts shallow voters - which may prove to be an obstacle.
The recent victory of Mamdani in NYC has shown that the current generation is willing to disregard all common sense and choose a megalomanic comic book character to lead them - and this Behn woman certainly fits that bill.
After the election of Jay Jones, nothing surprises me. The more Hate a democrat candidate has the more likely they will be elected.
Yes it is a probable win. The bigger question is if that idiot had not shot her mouth off would it still be a likely safe win?
FWIW Jones was a stolen election 100%. At the end of the counting He was behind by the exact amount the polls were showing then came the usual ballot dump
