The organizers and volunteers have 96 days to gather the needed one million signatures
A California Voter ID initiative looks likely to appear on the 2026 ballot with over 600,000 signatures, just short of the million signatures needed to qualify. The organizers and volunteers have 96 days to gather the remaining signatures for the initiative to appear before the voters and have expressed confidence they will gather the million signatures within the next few months.
According to Assemblyman Carl DeMaio’s Reform California, the organization spearheading the effort, “the ballot initiative is a state constitutional amendment to impose a Voter ID requirement for all future elections in California. Because the proposal is a constitutional amendment, once approved by the voters, state politicians will be compelled to comply with it for all future elections – no exceptions.”
The initiative requires a government-issued voter ID to vote in person, or the last four digits of a government-issued voter ID to vote by mail. Additionally, the initiative would require election officials to verify the citizenship of registered voters.
According to the latest polling data, a majority of California voters support the initiative’s requirements with 68 percent supporting Voter ID for casting a ballot and 79 percent supporting verification of citizenship.
Despite claims by Democrats that Voter ID is “racist,” a significant majority within minority communities support the initiative, according to Gallup.
Assemblyman DeMaio contends that the passage of the initiative will create an “earthquake” in California politics and will “fix the many election fraud issues” that exist in California’s voting system.
“Support for voter ID laws transcends party lines—it’s not a Republican or Democratic issue. Polls consistently show that majorities of Republicans, Democrats, and independents favor these measures … Voter ID is simply a common-sense policy. California needs to modernize its elections to align with the vast majority of the world’s democracies. While our state leads in so many areas, it lags behind on this issue. It’s time for California to catch up and enact voter ID laws,” said Julie Luckey, Director of Californians for Voter ID.
Luckey has been an instrumental fundraiser for the ballot initiative, raising millions of dollars to support the effort.
POLITICO reports that Luckey is driving the fundraising effort, successfully raising enough for a paid signature-gathering operation that has produced 75 percent of the signatures to date.
“As DeMaio leads the grassroots side of the campaign, Luckey has been leveraging her connections in donor circles to reel in big checks, including a combined $500,000 from Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and $370,000 from Nicole Shanahan, an entrepreneur and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s former running mate . It is Luckey on the phone with donors, promising that the money will be spent effectively rather than to enrich an army of consultants. Since July, Californians for Voter ID has raised about $5 million,” POLITICO reports.

Sounds good though I expect the democrats will try their usual “oops we lost the ballots in a nearby river”
It will be defeated not by voters against it, but by “voters” that vote without ID., and by “voters” whose ballots were prefilled out for convenience and cast for them, ain’t nobody got time to stand in line to vote, ya know.
Voter rolls should be wiped nationwide and everyone reregister with proof of citizenship.
I signed right when it was first rolled out, but Thank you, Yes, we need another 400,000 signatures. Only beef I have with this is, if the initiative is ever passed, we absolutely cannot let CA “Real IDs” be used for voting purposes because I have personally seen them (even the CDL versions) in the hands of illegals.
The Democrats and Dominion will kill that in hurry. Not a chance it will ever pass even if it passes, we’ll be told it didn’t pass.
A Fake democrat judge has already been picked
Time and energy will be spent on this Initiative. And in the unlikely event it passes at the poles, some CA court will toss out the results, assuming they don’t disqualify the Initiative before reaching the voters.
*polls
It’s California..it’ll be shot down by either the state legislature, courts or just disappear.
I wish I were still working as a pollster (for the first time in 40 years or so). There are going to be epic media campaigns over this.
Sadly, I would not bet against that. This is a one-party state and thoughtcrime will NOT be tolerated. There is no Democrat in Sacramento who doesn’t salivate over the kind of power that w “Uncle Bob” Mugabe had.
The first hurdle is getting past the rat SOS who will invalidate thousands of petition signatures.
Agreed, and the freshly created voter roles maintained at the county level
California is so infiltrated that I can’t see how this would pass a vote.
What we need is a constitution amendment that forces compliance with voter ID among other anti cheating requirements.
Yup, a judge will overturn if passed.
Sounds good though I expect the democrats will try their usual “oops we lost the ballots in a nearby river”

Anyone know if the 1 million figure includes a cushion to cover fraudulent signatures?
Otherwise, if they have 600k signatures and actually need 1 million to get it on the ballot they better collect far more than 400k more, probably double that. The Dhimmicrats are likely sabotaging the signature collection big time. Expect a large percentage of signatures to be rejected.
A state with NO VOTING LAWS AT ALL is Oregon:
https://www.stateregstoday.com/politics/election-and-voting/voter-id-requirements-in-oregon
It’s a total disaster here!
To register to vote:
you will need to provide ONE of the following forms of identification:
1. A current and valid Oregon driver’s license number;
2. The last four digits of your Social Security number;
3. A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address
If you do not have any of these forms of identification, you can still register to vote using the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have a Social Security number, you will need to write “None” in the field for this requirement.
Yes, there are exemptions to the voter ID requirements in Oregon. If you are registering to vote for the first time in Oregon and are doing so by mail or online, you do not need to provide an ID if:
2. You are living outside the United States;
??????
WTF
Anyone can vote in Oregon as many times as you want!
Citizenship is not necessary!
You can live anywhere! Even China!
No wonder the CCP sends so many fake ballots unto the US.
Nah, they have judges on call to stop it.
