A man with a 30-year criminal record, reportedly at least 72 arrests, and around 15 convictions, lit a 26-year-old woman on fire on a train in Chicago Monday night. She is fighting for her life in critical condition.
Mayor Brandon Johnson on Thursday called it an “isolated incident.”
The “isolated incident” highlights everything that is wrong with progressive politics and Democrat leadership in all too many of our cities: let the criminals run free, forget about the victims, and vilify the police.
But it only got worse for the Windy City Friday night, as the rampant violence and death the city has become known for continued with multiple shootings and mob mayhem in the city’s iconic Loop District. Multiple teenagers were hit:
At least eight teens were shot, one fatally, and multiple police officers were attacked Friday after a riot broke out in the Chicago Loop, the city's downtown central business district.

I wonder why all of a sudden, after decades of this kind of stuff, this has become such an issue, as if it had never happened before.
Makes me suspicious about who’s involved in it and if someone related to someone connected politically got shot.
Money doesn’t care what mayhem happens to the unwashed but when it touches them, suddenly it’s a big catastrophe.
The fancy shmancy stores in The Loop might care. Shootouts scare away their customers. Christmas Tree lightings are supposed to be photo perfect. A line’s been crossed.

My dad grew up in Chicago.
He once told me I wouldn’t survive a walk through his old neighborhood, and that was years ago. I’m sure it’s worse now.

Chicago has always been famous for its random killings.
