Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that Russia would “betray” its promise and “come back” if Ukraine was forced to reduce its army, as proposed under Donald Trump’s plan.

The French president was among European leaders meeting at a G20 summit in South Africa who have pushed back at the one-sided plan by Trump that aims to end the war in Ukraine: “We know that if there are no elements of deterrence, the Russians will come back and break their promises,” Macron told journalists.

He also said any plan “requires broader consultation” and had to allow for peace for Ukrainians and “security for all Europeans”.

Didn’t France just recently say they hoped they could genocide their white males fighting Russia so they could replace the country entirely with 3rd world men?

That does not seem likely.

If he is not in Switzerland with Rubio and Wytkoff, why is he talking.

Then, Macron should prepare his army for battle and keep us out of it.

They might come back for the 200 billions that Europe has been holding hostage, while using the interest to prosecute a war on the account holder.

Putin will not want foreign troops in Ukraine.

That implies Ukraine must have ample forces of Ukrainian defenders.

The European deadbeats want us to give a security guarantee to Ukraine because they’re to weak to provide it.

No way should are blood & treasure be responsible for any further war between these corrupt Slavik dipshits & their territorial disputes.

Macron should build a line of bunkers, pill boxes, and tank traps across Ukraine...

Yes, send some actual Frenchmen for once. Not the LE. Time to back up the bluster. But everyone knows the cowards won’t do it.

Maron—the soon to be ex-president of France. is blowing smoke. IF the plan is done—America would ensure Ukraine’s safety with Article Five like protection. If they invaded—America would step in and fight. Because of that—Russia would not—besides all will be too busy rebuilding

Oops - found this window still open / comment unposted on my other computer.

Anyway, it appears Russia opposes Euro forces in Ukraine even more than US forces in Ukraine.

But then of course the US public won’t support US forces in Ukraine, and the Ukrainians have no reason to believe the US will keep any security agreement, especially after Trump is gone.

Quite possibly, this thing just spins down into Russia occupying all of Ukraine and dealing with the biggest intifada of all time - and God knows how long that could go on. It took Russia 15 years and 2 wars to quell tiny Chechnya, which had little outside support.

And this is why they’r not going to occupy all of the Ukraine.
