The leaders of Germany, France and the United Kingdom have welcomed the US effort to end the war in Ukraine but stressed that any agreement affecting Europe must involve its partners, underscoring sharp divergences with Washington's 28-point peace plan.
In a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said they valued the Trump administration's push to broker an end to the conflict, a German government spokesman said.
At the same time, the leaders underlined that "any agreement affecting European states, the European Union or NATO requires the approval of European partners or a consensus among the Allies," according to a written statement released after the call.
The four vowed to continue pursuing the goal of safeguarding "vital European and Ukrainian interests" in the long term, including the demand for a ceasefire along the current front lines as a prerequisite for peace negotiations.

Poland and the Baltic States particularly know they are next if Ukraine surrenders like this. This is a modern version of the Czech sellout of 1938. Putin promises he is finished attacking Ukraine, until the dust settles and then right back on the warpath. Study Russian history and you will know exactly what they plan to do.

I don’t have great respect for the Europeans to back up their talk.
But this peace plan doesn’t look like it will work any better than the last time it was tried.
I guess Trump is going to let Ukraine lose more on the battlefield.
Then again I just read we are giving Ukraine long range ATCMS.
I’ll wait to see the final plan. In the meantime, our president deserves our support.
The US is in control of Europe so if Trump wants this deal then Europe has to ‘assume the position’ whining all the way if they must but they must bend the knee or whatever...
This Ukraine War ended up making Europe more dependent on the US by severing its economic ties with Russia.
Was that the scheme all along?
And one more time:
Russia did not demand a pro Russia government in Kiev in this plan. The ultimate concession.
I think it has a much better chance under the US threat to withdraw all support...weapons and intel.
Which by extension would also leave the US out of any future reconstruction efforts.
That said, I don’t know if Kiev has control over all the forces in the field...and in the darkest alleys of Kiev itself.
The government may not be able to ensure compliance with any agreement.
Gold or dollars acceptable.
Russia has not agreed to this plan.
Soon, there will be nothing left of Ukraine except fat bank accounts of corrupt Europeans. Europe does not care about Ukraine. Never did. Never will. It’s all about the money.
Zelinsky has spectacularly lost this war day by day since the beginning.

I suppose you mean ATACMS.
Ukraine has had access to them for well over a year now.
