U.S. President Donald Trump is considering an executive order that would seek to preempt state laws on artificial intelligence through lawsuits and by withholding federal funding, according to a draft of the order seen by Reuters on Wednesday.
The move, which is likely to face pushback from states, shows how far Trump is willing to go to help AI companies overcome a patchwork of laws they say stifle innovation.

Under the 10th amendment, this nationalization should be unconstitutional. Trump should not take the side of the left wing, Trump should support the Constitution, federalism, and continuing what he started in reducing the size and scope of the federal government. Nationalizing laws like this only increases government's size.
Government only makes things worse. AI is bad enough and creepy enough on its own without big government making things maximally bad.
Sarah Conner: I don’t understand.
Kyle Reese: Defense network computers. New... powerful... hooked into everything, trusted to run it all. They say it got smart, a new order of intelligence. Then it saw all people as a threat, not just the ones on the other side. Decided our fate in a microsecond: extermination.
Welp, on the bright side, the kids won’t have to worry about 50 trillion in national debt.
I, for one, welcome our new Skynet overlords.

Yes it is absolutely wrong. Looks like Trump has been a NWO plant the whole time... He is right in there with digitally enslaving the world.
Trump wants to layoff even more Americans as the pace is not fast enough so we all are jobless...
Please be gentle with your fellow Freepers; many are still holding tight to their cultish devotion to Trump.
This is actually Vance behind this big Tech takeover. He has convinced Trump it is good for the economy. All Trump has to hear is the keyword economy and he is all in no matter what it is. This one is a huge mistake.
I mean really, would it be intelligent to grant blanket immunity from liability to the whole car industry? Or aircraft industry? Or Big Pharma? Who do these communist leftist tech companies think they are to be any better?
Vance is just a creation of Thiel.
Thiel is a massive surveil-and-control CIA-cutout globalist.
All the big Tech and Pharma Bros bought their seats at the table with donations to Trump’s campaign, inauguration, WH ballroom, etc.
Of course, Vance, like RamaSwampy and RamaSwampy’s brother, is invested in mRNA jab factories.
Then the whole Trump family has been paid off with billions in crypto and overseas investments.
I don’t think this is constitutional. Whatever powers that are not given to the fed gov via the Constitution are automatically the powers of individual states. I haven’t been able to find AI in that document.
I’m not at all impressed with AI. It only knows what it has been fed and can be easily politically corrupted.
“I’m not at all impressed with AI. It only knows what it has been fed and can be easily politically corrupted”
I consider AI to be Wikipedia on steroids. It will be useful for anything that is completely factual such as who won the 1975 masters golf tournament. It will be worse than useless for anything remotely political because it will have been corrupted.
The leftist propaganda media seems to repeat a lie for even longer than it used to just to get their dishonest viewpoint or completely fabricated story more available for AI to sweep up.
