Epstein files bill includes exceptions that could affect what gets released and when
ABC ^ | November 19, 2025 | Ivan Pereira

Attorney General Pam Bondi said, "We have released over 33,000 Epstein documents to the Hill, and we will continue to follow the law and to have maximum transparency." She spoke at an unrelated news conference alongside FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

The bill includes several exceptions to a full release that could complicate or delay disclosure.

The measure says the Justice Department has up to 30 days from its signing to make "publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the possession of the Department of Justice, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Attorneys' Offices, that relate to Jeffrey Epstein including all investigations, prosecutions, or custodial matters."

…However, the bill does contain language that stipulates, "no record shall be withheld, delayed, or redacted on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary"

Trump last week called for investigation into notable Democrats and their links with Epstein…The timing was key in that he did just before announcing his u-turn to sign the bill.

He never needed Congress.

And legally speaking: anything related to an ongoing investigation can be redacted during the course of the “investigation.”

So Trump is likely…protecting Democrats. Among others. 🙄

They can’t let the story end. The drive by media has to have a way to keep milking it.

It’s not the media.

It’s Trump. Can we please stop acting like he’s Jesus?

He’s protecting his friends, including “ex-friends” and Democrats like Clinton.

This is the bad part:

The measure also states the Attorney General may withhold or redact info that "would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution, provided that such withholding is narrowly tailored and temporary."

..... Of course, as stated in the bill...... They will be releasing all ...... Unclassified ..... records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the possession of the Department of Justice.

.... I bet most of the good stuff will still be Classified.

Yes on this issue. NOT fond of Trump. He’s done well on other things…He’s still a great leader and astronomically, light years better than a President Kamala Harris would have been.

But this is disappointing.

Do you understand that Trump did not write the bill. Isn’t this Tom Massey’s bill? Why are you blaming the language in the bill on Donald Trump?

I admit to not being well versed in all the procedural intricacies but legal people say, Trump didn’t need Massie, Khanna, or to wait for Congress on anything. Is this wrong?

Some poor underling at DOJ is probably going to have to put in for workers comp for repetitive stress injury for rubber stamping ‘Classified’ on tens of thousands of pages.

Like I said, Steele Dossidiots are not going to be satisfied.

Ever.
I can hear them now.

Trump probably scrubbed things.
Trump this.
Trump that.

Underlying all of that is irreversible TDS

Yes but Steele was something about Trump specifically?

This isn’t about Trump as much as Trump protecting his friends.

So you are blaming President Trump for the Democrat's (and Massie's and MTG's) bill that Congress itself just sent him? Otherwise why did you post this article along with those comments?

Yes Trump didn’t need the bill to release the documents.

But if you think the bill doesn’t go far enough then you should be blaming Massie, MTG and their buddies for “covering up for Democrats”, notTrump.

The Deep State will milk this until the people titillated by a salacious scandal find another story to follow.

They aren’t hiding it, they’re promoting it to distract from important matters like economics.

Everything your govt has done since 2015/16 has been about Trump.

Starting with the Steele Dossier..
Epstein is all about Trump, too..

Your comments even verify this.

Trump this.
Trump that.
