WASHINGTON (AP) — Lawmakers seeking to force the release of files related to the sex trafficking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein are predicting a big win in the House this week with a “deluge of Republicans” voting for their bill and bucking the GOP leadership and President Donald Trump, who for months have disparaged their effort.
The bill would force the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to Epstein, as well as any information about the investigation into his death in federal prison. Information about Epstein’s victims or ongoing federal investigations would be allowed to be redacted.
“There could be 100 or more” votes from Republicans, said Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., among the lawmakers discussing the legislation on Sunday news show appearances. “I'm hoping to get a veto-proof majority on this legislation when it comes up for a vote.”

They voted once to fast-track release and the Democrats blocked it?

You can’t see why Johnson pulled this stunt?
Yes , he can crow that Dems refused..but now he has to vote yes. Right??and it will be on the record. No hiding behind unanimous consent.
If he votes no he will have to explain himself because his voters are going to see he voted no.
More time wasted, instead of turning some of the President’s executive orders into codified LAW, that cannot be easily disposed of whenever Dems reclaim the majority. Getting more judges confirmed would also be sort of neat.
What I personally wonder is if this has all been a ploy to prevent Democrats from claiming the Republican majority congress is targeting their political opponents. Forcing the Democrats into a corner to demand the release, that will hurt them the most.
What you said, that’s what I am hoping is the case.
Pam Bondi bubbles owns this. She should have been fired months ago.
Johnson tried to pass it via unanimous consent to prevent them from being on record. The people opposed to this need to be known.
Honestly, that should be the spin for this disaster to escape the damage they are doing by continuing to claim this is a hoax and bashing the base who want answers.
Cia published The Family Jewels which disclosed some pretty outlandish things.
if any intelligence agency was involved with Epstein it will have major repercussions ...but I say bring it on no matter who was involved. That may be short sighted because the damage will be significant.
It’s all about the Dems having no platform...and taking up time with garbage....just like Russia, Russia, Russia...
My present state concerning this.....😴😴😴😴😴😴
I’m tired of all thee people posturing about doing something someday. To cite that immortal statesman, Elvis, we need a little less talk and a lot more action.
It still has to pass the Senate. According to an article in The Hill: “A total of 60 senators would need to vote in favor of taking up the bill, due to the Senate’s filibuster rule. That means that if all 47 Democratic senators vote in favor, at least 13 Republicans would need to approve the effort.”
This fetish obsession is ridiculous.
The Lame Street News are desperate since the Dems caved on the shutdown. Of course weak RINOS fall for it.
The blue wins in deep blue states means nothing.
The crazies that support it need to be exposed.
I’m sure if Biden won in 2024 and was fighting tooth and nail to stop its release, you’d be saying the same thing.
Wow, you can predict the future based on history that didn’t happen.
Amazing.
I DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING EPSTEIN.
The fact some do speaks volumes about their mental health.
A Stampede of GOP House members will vote to release..
Epstein files top item in the D.C. list no work required house bar is now open.
