New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani encouraged his more than 1 million X followers this week to boycott Starbucks.
"Starbucks workers across the country are on an Unfair Labor Practices strike, fighting for a fair contract," the 34-year-old wrote on Thursday. "While workers are on strike, I wonโt be buying any Starbucks, and Iโm asking you to join us. Together, we can send a powerful message: No contract, no coffee."
On the same day, Starbucks Workers United, a union representing workers at the coffee giant, announced it was going on an open-ended strike in what is being dubbed the "Red Cup Rebellion."
"As of today, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE," the union wrote on social media. "And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history. Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX."

The nightmare begins.
Almost makes me want a cup of Starbucks coffee...almost.
I have been watching a strike on Facebook involving Caesars for strike recognition. They played hardball. After three weeks of tent city they brought in police to roust them and tear it down . They got the mayor to give them control of what should be easements. Now that the govt. Shutdown is over they can now vote but apparently still no vote

What to do, what to do. I’ve been boycotting Starbucks for years for supporting candidates and policies that led to politicians like Imamdani. Scroo ‘em. They buttered their bread. Let them lie in it.
Wonder how many of his so-called followers are bots, illegals, foreigners....
This is hilarious. Leftist vs. Communist.
Agreed. They made their bed.
If you think their coffee is expensive now. They will price themselves out of business. Win win.
Stalinists vs Trotskyites.
Opening salvo on the new revolution.
Yup—grab the popcorn.
Left vs left.
I’ve been boycotting Sucksbucks since the first time I tried one of their ashtray flavored coffees years and years ago.
Who is he going to back when a government employee union strikes his government run grocery stores and drives up prices?
I don’t buy their crap coffee. I honestly don’t care if the workers strike or not. They chose to work there at the rate of pay they were offered.
“Who is he going to back when a government employee union strikes his government run grocery stores and drives up prices?”
It will be Trumps fault of course.
What next, unionize the ice cream venders at Carvel?
Do these Starbucks employees really want to male a career out of serving coffee?
“Let them fight.”
It will be fun when city workers strike when he is chairman of NYC.
Wait til the residents start boycotting his government own stores...
That’s going to be fun to watch...๐
Ah, geez. I have to go buy a Starbucks now?
