Congressional Democrats are furious after eight colleagues voted with Republicans.
Congressional Democrats are livid after a handful of their Senate colleagues voted Sunday to advance the House-passed stopgap and end the government shutdown.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) called it a mistake. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called it “a very bad night.” And Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Ca.) and Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of being ineffective and called for his removal.
“Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced,” Khanna said in a post on X following the vote. “If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?”
After 40 days of stalemate, eight members of the Senate Democratic Caucus voted to advance the bill Sunday night, though notably none of the eight are up for reelection in 2026. But it’s Schumer — who voted no Sunday — who is now facing questions about his ability to lead the caucus.
“Don’t endorse or say who you voted for in NYC despite there being a Dem candidate,” Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) wrote on X, referring to Schumer declining to endorse democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani in the NYC mayoral race. “Get Dem Senators to negotiate a terrible “deal” that does nothing real about healthcare. Ro, bro, c'mon man! Obamacare is exactly as passed in 2010. Trump attempted to repeal it in his first term, but John McCain famously thwarted that effort. A challenge to SCOTUS led to the court defining the assessments under the ACA as not a tax, thereby allowing it to survive. No, Obamacare is delivering exactly what Democrats deserve, and they're entitled to get it good and hard, without massive subsidies to spread the pain over every taxpayer. Ro, your party built it, and now sit back and enjoy!
The only way that Republicans can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is to agree in some fashion to extend the COVID-19 emergency subsidies. Do not touch it! Let Obamacare operate as intended, bending the cost curve down (Ha!).

Well, it seems that seven Democrat Senators broke ranks with Chuck Schumer to join the Republicans in voting for cloture. Call them the Seven Dwarves* if you wish. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE Chuck Schumer Shutdown IS OVER. The record-long shutdown continues at six weeks and counting.
All it means is that the United States Senate has given itself permission to begin talking about ending the shutdown. A simple majority vote will do the job now, if they ever get around to it. If the Senate votes to approve the amendments the Democrats were allowed to staple on, then the bill will have to go back to the House for their approval. It ain’t over yet, by a long shot.
Democrat Party officials and Big News Media are already attacking the treasonous seven.
This SNAP/EBT fuss which has been raging for a couple of weeks now will not be resolved by ending the shutdown. That is because the SNAP program was funded by a separate Federal law which expired on November 1. The SNAP-WIC program is non-existent until Congress, both houses, pass and send to the President a new authorization and a new appropriation.
Lilliputian smurf judges demanding that the Trump Administration fork over the billions of Federal dollars that are “owed” to the obese illegals, don’t seem to understand that these former recipients aren’t owed a thing. The entire law is gone. Just doesn’t matter. “VOTE DEMOCRAT !!”
* None of the Dwarves is standing re-election coming up; two have already announced their retirement.

Gas pump prices are down. Energy prices are down. Inflation has been driven almost back to the 2% target. Just doesn’t matter. The Democrat Party and Big News Media keep pounding on the term “affordability,” meaning undoing all the inflation damage done by four disastrous years of the Biden Administration.
Democrats and the news media keep whinging that Trump ’47 has not yet returned prices to what they were in Trump ’45. Their answer to “affordability” is to throw more government money at the problem, which is what caused the inflation problem in the first place.
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has told New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani that the state is broke, and has no money to deliver on the promises he made to city voters that everything will be free. New York City voters are about to learn that when everything is free, there is nothing to be free.
Meanwhile, the Democrat Party and Big News Media continue brutalizing President Trump for not having undone the damage that the Kamala-Walz ticket had promised to perpetuate to oblivion. “VOTE DEMOCRAT !!”

While the United States Supreme Court debates whether President Trump will have to return the hundreds of billions of dollars collected in tariffs, which would bankrupt the Federal government, President Trump is still talking about sending out $2,000 checks from tariff proceeds to every citizen in our Republic.
This is the same insane thing that the Biden Administration did which touched off the raging inflation we have been burdened with. With the country in debt to the tune of over $38,000,000,000,000, sending out more cash will not reduce the deficit, the national debt, or help the national economy.
True, it might be popular with the people who buy lottery tickets by the hundreds, but it won’t help America. Besides, most lottery winners are bankrupt within 18 months of their winning, meaning it is actually a curse.

BBC has had their top leadership wiped out over the scandal from their malicious editing of President Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021. For their “documentary” on President Trump, which ran in early November, 2024, just before the American national election, the British government agency cut and pasted from President Trump’s speech on the South White House lawn to make it look as if he was calling for violence at the Capitol that day.
BBC top management claimed to be appalled at even the suggestion that they were dishonest, before eventually admitting they actually did the malicious cut-and-paste job. They claimed that such deceptive editing is perfectly normal for news agencies.
Resignations galore from the top on down marked the revelations of BBC deceptive editing to promote their malicious narrative that “President Trump is HITLER, literally.” Resignations evidently aren’t over yet. The Telegraph reported the outrage in the United Kingdom, while the Washington Post lamented that the deception was made public.
Leftists and their propaganda arm of Big News Media are insisting, just like Dan Rather did, that while the story may have been falsified, the underlying narrative is still true. “We don’t need no stinkin’ facts, because we know the TRUTH, that President Trump really meant to call for an insurrection to take over the United States government by force.”

So Democrats would be okay with the government being shut down for 40 months or 40 years, rather than 40 days? The shutdown had to end at some point, and the Democrats got what they really wanted — wins in the off-year elections. And hey, they get a chance for a shutdown reboot in two months.

Kaine (former VP candidate) and Durbin (#2 Senate Dem) broke ranks. These are not back-benchers. There is a split in the party. Nobody, noyt Schumer, not the Squad, had a path to anything they would call a victory.

But if it was Donald Trump and the Republicans who had shut down the government, how could Schumer’s leadership one way or the other be involved? They said every day it was the “Republican shutdown” and the “Trump shutdown.”
You’d almost guess they had been lying to us and it was indeed the Democrats who shut it down all along...
