Zohran Mamdani’s victory-lap speech Tuesday night reeked of Vladimir Lenin after Russia’s 1917 communist revolution.
But instead of commanding a Red Army, the mayor-elect should be aware he will be facing lots of red ink.
That’s on top of some very strict and sensible financial rules put in place some 50 years ago — just in case a deranged Marxist ended up running New York City.
Yes, socialism can sound rousing when it’s pitched by a skilled orator....
But NYC — with plenty of welfare statism already on the books — will never go full-on Soviet Union.
That’s because laws must be followed....

for those who would like the 'talkie' version, here's youtuber George A.A.
“will never go full-on Soviet Union.”
No, it will possibly be worse. No tax base, no safety. Property values plummet. People that can flee. Then there is no tourism, no shopping, suddenly no broadway. Then there is financial sectors move. One day they wake up and it is Detroit in the 1980’s……..
The Soviets at least had police.
bkm
forgot to add, George A.A.’s video actually gives a breakdown of statutes and laws - briefly:
Rent Freeze - Urstadt’s Law; NYC Charter 31/197
Free Buses - NY State Public Authorities Law 1200; NY State Transportation Law 15
Universal Childcare - MY State Social Services Law 410; New York State Tax Law 606
Raise Minimum Wage - New York State Labor Law 652; New York State Constitution ARticle 9 Section 2
Tax the Rich - New York State Tax Law 1300; New York State Municipal Home Rule Law Section 10
City Owned Grocery Stores - New York State General Municipal Law 99-R; New York City Charter 362
Diverting 911 calls - NY State Mental Hygiene Law 41.03; New York City Charter 435
When did laws they did not make themselves mean anything to these whackos?
Gasparino Is one smart business man and commentator
2. To fight such an unlawful action someone or group needs to sue.
3. Takes money to sue. Takes Standing to fight in Court. Takes a non-woke, non-corrupt, non-commie Judge.
4. There’s a reason they flooded the court with sympathetic judges!
5. And, AND Commies don’t follow Court Rulings!
Since Obama was elected how many more examples of the above do you need? They flooded the country with illegals, gave them driver’s licenses which under state laws (how convenient they were passed) automatically registering to vote. So there went the elections. Then the judges were taken, look at some of these crazy rulings. They have gamed everything like NGO’s as a tool to destroy their enemies foreign and domestic.
Trump understands, thus his plan of attack. Hope we have time to succeed. Oh I forgot they tried to kill Trump twice! The other side understands the existential threat Trump represents to the commies.
I like Gasparino but the article is laughable: "The law must be followed..." Since when?
These are Marxists and Communists, those stinking laws mean nothing to them.
Trump follows every judicial order, until it’s decided in a higher court. Watch how these tyrants operate.
I guess since we are supposed to be a nation of laws, what good are they unless they are followed? Therein seems to be the problem; finding the right judges, etc. that will see to it that they ARE followed, & if you break the the law there is a penalty to be paid. Need to find the right judges for that also. If the law really were followed as it reads, then I don’t see this as such a big problem. We need more men like Trump who do try to actually follow the law instead of subverting it.
That’s because laws must be followed....
...... is that you NY porst ?
Red coating has a whole new meaning now with on y’alls here to fore new and great mayor not that that you have not all but championed the lawlessness of trying to govern as judges whilest democrats ruled and there by rioting under the auspices of peaceful protest.
A new sheriff is working on it now.

Didn’t Lenin unleash the Red Terror that resulted in the mass murder of some tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands?
when the dems get control, nuke the filibuster and change the laws, then there you will be. The feminists who where handmaiden costumes have voted to change their costumes for Allah’s handmaiden costume.
There is a lot wrong we have to fix and we have about one year to get her done. And the useless RINOs won’t do a thing.
The first comment on the George A.A. youtube vid:
“I heard he said he would not take the oath of office. If he refuses you better not let him rule !!”
That ought to be cute to watch.
And you are relying on the NY state courts to follow the law. That’s a bold move there. We will see how it works out for you dumb effing RINOs who won’t do what needs to be done to right a lot of gross injustice arising from the storm of globalism, socialism and crony capitalism fully funded by GW Bush in his deal to invade Iraq. Trump is what is between us and the hell our uniparty sent us plummeting towards. PS the national debt is $38T in case no one was keeping track.

Charles Gasparino is obviously concerned about the future of his Wall Street gig.
Thus, his editorial downplaying the impact Mamdani will have.
A civil war would have to break out before it could come close to the worst “turf” areas of Detroit in the 80s or anytime since.
Maybe Mamdani could get a “civilian security force” like Obama proposed. There have been a few attempts by Muslims to enforce sharia law here
