Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson temporarily halted an order requiring the Trump administration make full Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) November payments by Friday.
Jackson’s ruling pauses some of the payments until the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit can decide the administration’s motion to block the order pending its appeal.
It does not reflect a ruling on the underlying legal merits of the case, but it provides a temporary reprieve to the Trump administration, which went to the Supreme Court earlier Friday evening.
“Given the First Circuit’s representations, an administrative stay is required to facilitate the First Circuit’s expeditious resolution of the pending stay motion,” Jackson wrote.
Jackson ruled on the immediate request because she handles emergency appeals arising from the First Circuit by default.
“Our attorneys will not stop fighting, day and night, to defend and advance President Trump’s agenda,” Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on the social platform X.
SNAP provides roughly 42 million people with grocery assistance, and the program’s funding lapse has become one of the most visible signs of the government shutdown as it stretches into a sixth week

KJB is full of surprises.
Big Whoop. She gives them 48 hrs.
Big of her. This is because she wants it written to withstand challenges.
In the town where Lois Lerner investigation took 7 years and John Durham Investigated for 5 years - they give 48 hours.
Ha. True.
“And you guys better get a whole lot of livin’ out of those 48 hours cause you can’t expect more.”
It’s my understanding if she denied it then the administration could have just a requested an emergency petition to all the Justices, and she likely knew they would have granted it so all she would have done is delay it by an hour or two.
Did she get help spelling SNAP?
I believe that the Administration was reserving the money for WIC, a program for women and children. Which has the priority, SNAP or WIC? A progressive might want to favor WIC. Anyway, it’s not for judges to decide that question. And if judges do decide, it’s a race to the courthouse to fund other programs with the dwindling cash. That’s not a stable solution.
Ketanji Brown Jackson is a cancer who wants me to die.
No, she is full of s***.
Yeah it is a BS stall move her clerks cooked up. Trump would just have went to the full court. Where the is the appeal to the ruling that Trump cannot lay off unneeded Government workers?
This is why these lawsuits were brought in that district. They were hoping she’d go along. This is quite surprising. Maybe she’s tired of being laughed at by her peers.
Now that’s funny right there!
Yes it is. Funniest thing I’ve read here all week long.
Not, ‘could she read it?’
But ‘Did she (finally) get help reading that big word?
Bless her heart!
Excellent Concern Trolling.

Why is Trump against using tariff money for this. Didn’t he run on tariffs replacing taxes? He’s spending it on other things why can’t he spend it on this?
I went to law school and practiced law for 15 years. KJB is maybe the LEAST qualified person to be on the Supreme Court in the history of the Court. She is the perfect example of a DEI appointment. She is just DUMB!
She probably thought she was suspending President Trump's suspension of SNAP payments.
"Oops! What I done? I finna messed up!"
Ulterior motives?
