New York City has elected a democratic socialist as its next mayor.
Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani won with a progressive platform focused on making the city more affordable, through free bus service, frozen rents, universal childcare and a higher minimum wage, among other ideas.
The state assemblymember represented both the Democratic Party and the Working Families Party on the ballot. He quoted prominent late-19th and early-20th century socialist Eugene Debs in his victory speech Tuesday night. And he is a longtime member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Sad but true.
And you can rest assured that it will become far more expensive, crime-ridden, devalued, and filthy.
This bs about “affordability” is just a positive sounding view on the pig. Who wouldn’t want everything to be “affordable”?
When you read a real description, it’s communism but with a claim that you’ll still have “elections”.
But the workers own the means of production, and supposedly they all vote what to make for the good of society, not profit.
So every industry has to be stolen and handed to the “workers”. It’s communism pure and simple and would mean the end of all personal property.
What kind of freedom would there be in this “democracy”when you can’t start or control your own business, or decide how to make a living.
It’s the opposite of America.
He’s not a Democrat Socialist. He’s a radical Islamist who will incrementally erode NYC as it was as quickly as he can without getting thrown out of office.
He does not have the best interests of NYC nor America in mind in the long run.
He’s a radical Islamist who pretends to be a Democratic Socialist/Communist.

Collapse tends to follow bureaucratic overreach: Once a bureaucracy becomes too rigid, corrupt, or detached from the productive parts of society, it drains resources rather than managing them efficiently. The “decay phase” can last decades or even a century before actual collapse occurs.
If he can pull this off without killing the city in the process, all of the economic textbooks will have to be rewritten.
My predictions:
He will not be able to fulfill even half of his promises, but will blame external forces (i.e., Trump) for his failure.
He will increases taxes on the "rich" and some of them will bail.
Rent controls will decrease the supply of "decent" housing as repairs are postponed by landlords.
Higher minimum wages will kill many such jobs as employers leave the city.
People will re-elect him because they still believe in a free lunch.

The goal is Sharia. The supposed socialist utopia is just a way to get some infidels on board for now.
The "united front" is an old Commie trick, but when the partner is Muslims
(and not bourgeois liberals) it does not end with the Commies taking over.

Mandami is an avout communist. He is the head of the New Communist Party of America, formally known as the Democrat Party. The term “democratic socialists” is an effort to muddy the political waters of this country.
Within a few years, after the inevitable disaster in NYC, the NY Times will inform us that Mamdani’s regime was not REAL socialism.
Probably, they’ll say the US capitalist system interfered too much, like in Cuba, preventing a socialist paradise.
