It’s important to vote!

Remember, participation implies legitimacy!

Politics follows Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Nationally tonight was the “equal and opposite reaction” to the Trumpslide.

I hope that the midterms prove to be the equal and opposite reaction to tonight’s debacle.

Gerrymandering is now the order of the day nationwide, not just in blue states.

The original gerrymandering was mandated in red states to ensure that minorities had "representation", giving an artificially high number of Democrats in office in those red states. All the red states have been doing is undoing the original gerrymandering. What California is doing is engaging in even more extreme gerrymandering in order to cancel what little representation Republicans had there.

I came so close to not voting this evening, but I forced myself to get out and do it. Sadly, what a waste of time.

I turned in my ballot on Monday...At the drop box...In front of the public library in my neighborhood...

I did not expect the margin of victory to be this big...

I agree...

Gavin Newsom made the argument that Prop 50 was needed because Republicans were trying to get more seats in Texas by gerrymandering...I do not think that Prop 50 opponents had a good answer to that argument...Assemblyman Carl DeMaio tried to answer that argument by stating that he did not like gerrymandering in general...He is from San Diego County...I do not think that his argument convinced too many voters...

Some CA GOP members of House will not be going back to Washington after 2026 election...

After watching everything play out regarding Charlie Kirk and other demon possessed democrat policy, the folks in California voted to give the democrats still more power.

A lot of people in CA dislike President Trump...It was not too hard for Gavin Newsom to pass Prop 50...Just talk about how bad President Trump is...That worked...

I am happy that I do not have to see Tom Steyer's Prop 50 ads on TV any longer...I really found him annoying...

I suspect the democrats will run the House in 2027, and if they do, this nation will essentially be done for.

There is a good chance that will happen...Then Democrats will try to defund ICE...Trump Administration might have to cut back on enforcing immigration law because of funding problems...

Hopefully, the Trump Admin will be diverting funds, setting aside $$$ and planning ahead for just that contingency.

So California....where Trump won 38% of the vote and Republicans only hold 17.5% of US House seats is going to gerrymander harder and try to get to Republicans only holding 7.7% of US House seats? This will counter Texas’ redistricting?

OK. How will Democrats counter North Carolina’s, Florida’s, Louisiana’s, Ohio’s, Missouri’s and those of many other states?

Hint: It won’t. It can’t. Democrats have already gerrymandered just about as hard as they possibly could while Republicans have not.

“ just enough to blunt Texas Republicans’ move to redraw their own maps to pick up five GOP seats at Trump’s urging. ”

What a bunch of bunk!

Texas complied with a court decision outlawing racial Gerrymandering. The new districts are more compact and colorblind. In other words, the gop picked up five seats that were illegally taken from it.
