Peterborough barber shop with a knife - minutes after allegedly stabbing a 14-year-old boy.
Anthony Williams, 32, of Peterborough, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court today charged with 11 counts of attempted murder in connection with a knife attack on board an LNER train and another in east London on November 1.
Police have today launched a probe to establish whether three other incidents in Peterborough on the night before and morning of the alleged rampage are linked - but are facing accusations of failing to thwart it.
CCTV footage exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail allegedly shows a man believed to be Williams entering Ritzy Barbers in the Fletton area of Peterborough, on Friday evening at 7.14pm.
The man entered the shop with the weapon in his hand minutes after police were called to reports of a 14-year-old being stabbed in the city centre, for which no suspect was found at the time.
He eventually left and police were then called around 90 minutes later - but Cambridgeshire Constabulary did not send officers.
Barber Cody Greene, 23, told the Mail the same man returned to the shop at 9.25am the next day - around nine hours before prosecutors allege Williams began his rampage on an LNER train bound for London.
'Even though we called the police, I feel guilty because it could have been prevented if action had been taken,' Mr Greene said.
'They have cameras everywhere, they (the police) have seen what this guy looks like. He has then walked past this shop again. It definitely could have been prevented.'

I guess there was nobody there with a bigger knife that could have stopped him....
“I guess there was nobody there with a bigger knife that could have stopped him....”
Knives are illegal to carry in GB now thanks to the Sand People.
If only someone would have had a firearm.
Someone should have popped a cap. Oh wait, this is Europe. Guns are bad.
Anthony must not have known that. Maybe keep some wasp spray handy for people like Anthony.
> Knives are illegal to carry in GB now <
Firearms: illegal
Knives: illegal
Pepper spray: illegal
So how is a Brit supposed to defend himself? The British police recommend that everyone carry a whistle (seriously).
How pathetic is that?
A barbershop full of dudes running away from one idiot with a knife.....something is basically wrong with that.
I suspect the he UK is all but lost
More victim names. No perp names.
What are they hiding?
In a fight between two or three unarmed men and one bold guy with a knife, I think the odds would be with the knife guy.
It’s past the point where UK shops better have a defense plan in place. But I’m not sure just it would be. As I noted in an earlier post, even pepper spray is illegal in the UK.
Maybe have a high-pressure fire extinguisher handy? But even that just buys you time. It does not neutralize the treat.
Lucky it wasn’t terrorism!
A jewelery store in my area has a self locking door that can only be opened by a button behind the display counter.
What that does is allows employees to regulate who comes into as well as goes out of the store.
Not a bad idea in this day and age......but I’m sure the powers that be in the UK would find some asinine reason to ban that as well.
Oh my goodness. The last line in my post #10 should read:
“It does not neutralize the threat.” (Not treat.)
You wouldn’t want to neutralize treats.
They totally disarm their populace. Even making any form of self-defense illegal, then bring in hordes of violent 3rd world ilk to replace em.
^THAT^ is a government that’s just begging to be overthrown by any means possible. The Brits should public hang the basstids.
Why did no one stop him? Disarmed, trained to be helpless in face of violence. If you don’t have men who will defend against violent attackers, who aren’t willing to defend hearth and home, how can you expect them to defend abstract ideas like democracy.
That’s a nice Anglo Saxon name.
Did the barber in the foreground have a straight razor?

On a related note: Crime in Philadelphia is so bad that some stores have installed bullet-proof glass. The Philadelphia city council is trying to make that illegal.
Liberals everywhere are just nuts.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary did not send officers.
