President Trump did a sit-down interview with ’60 Minutes’ with correspondent Norah O’Donnell.
This is President Trump’s first interview with ’60 Minutes’ in five years.
President Trump discussed his recent trip to Asia and his high-stakes trade meeting with China’s Xi Jinping.
“One potential flashpoint with China, probably the potential flashpoint with China in the coming years, is over the issue of Taiwan,” O’Donnell said to President Trump.
Could you order US forces to defend Taiwan?” Norah O’Donnell asked Trump.
President Trump replied, “You’ll find out if it happens. And [Xi] understands the answer to that.”
Trump told Norah O’Donnell that Xi never even brought up Taiwan.
“He never brought it up. People were a little surprised at that,” Trump said.
Trump said China knows what will happen if they try to invade Taiwan.
“Why not just say it?” Norah O’Donnell asked Trump.
“I can’t give away my secrets!” Trump said. “I’m not somebody that tells you everything because you’re asking me a question!”
“I’m not gonna be one of those guys who tells you exactly what’s gonna happen if something happens. The other side knows,” Trump said.
“But they understand what’s gonna happen. He has openly said, and his people have openly said at meetings, ‘We would never do anything while President Trump is president,’ because they know the consequences,” Trump said.

Might be a nod to Bari Weiss. 60 Minutes is also a way to communicate to the segment of old people who still get their news that way.
He’s a full-spectrum communicator.
She already lost her nightly evening news gig because her ratings were poor. She won’t get that back by being a bitch.............
Maybe Bari Weiss will fire her now.
She’s trying real hard to be the next Mike Wallace or Barbara Walters, but it just doesn’t work for her, she’s not really likeable........

I do not know who O'Donnell is. I do not care who O'Donnell is. This is the most I have ever written, or will write, about O'Donnell

Shame on you, CBS and Norah O’Donnell. The interview with Trump was an attack. There were times you talked over the top of him and wouldn’t let him answer. I don’t know why people watch your show. I caught about half that interview. She would ask a question and interrupt Trump as she was answering it and then she would intervene with a video fact check. But he just taked over her. She was trying to be a hard ass but it made her look like a harpie.
why would I tell you what I'm going to do??
He repeated it several times in answer to several of her questions.
Frankly...she made an a** of herself.

Trump did well, but O’Donnell provided plenty of deceitful talking points to the Rats
She mentioned the ‘settlement’ CBS had with Trump with no admission of guilt. Trump should have brought up Dan Rather-heh heh.
Woulda been funny if he turned to an aide saying “Sandy, go fetch those top secret military plans on my desk, this young lady wants a peek at them”
