Trump Designates Nigeria ‘Country of Particular Concern’ Over Christian Persecution
The Epoch Times ^ | 10 31 2025 | Stacey Robinson

President Donald Trump said on Oct. 31 that he would designate Nigeria a “country of particular concern” because of widespread violence toward and murder of Christians there.

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.” The designation, which comes under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998, adds Nigeria to a list of countries whose “government has engaged in or tolerated ‘particularly severe violations of religious freedom.’”

This story got a lot of traction here in Mexico among Christians. It helps Mexicans look at Trump differently.

Why are millions upon millions of Nigerians allowed to immigrate to the US when their stance toward Christians has been nothing but genocidal for the past decade at least!?

Why has Trump and our State Department and Congress been ignoring this when mistreatment of a SINGLE Central American illegal immigrant causes a perpetual whining news cycle that goes on for months!

Deport these racist Christian-hating subhumans who are here and STOP importing them! Revoke their Green cards and kick them all out.

Show some fairness and proportion for crying out loud.

Many Nigerians are Christians. Nigerian Christians are the ones being slaughtered in their own country. I knew a Nigerian family who emigrated here. They were Christians and very good people, highly educated, smarter and more hardworking than most Americans.

Who cashed the checks?

Official portrait of Biden Treasury hire, Nigerian Wally Adeyemo. Adeyemo abruptly quit Treasury when Trump came in. Ademeyo refused to handover documents chronicling his Treasury activities wrt $4.7 trillion in Treasury payments.

Earlier, the Nigerian headed “Obama’s Foundation” which soon made Obama “a billionaire.” Is this why Obama won’t discuss his Foundation finances?

Nigerians in America may be eligible for certain U.S. federal grants depending on their immigration status and the specific grant’s eligibility requirements. U.S. federal grants are generally provided to organizations, not individuals for personal use, with some exceptions for specific programs like certain educational or research grants.

Key Points on Eligibility
Grant-Specific Rules: The authorizing legislation and agency policies determine whether a foreign individual can apply.
Immigration Status: Non-U.S. citizens may qualify for some federal programs (e.g., specific student aid or research grants) if they have “eligible noncitizen” status, which usually means they are in the U.S. for other than a temporary purpose with the intention of becoming a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Organization vs. Individual: Most federal grants go to registered organizations, not individuals. Nigerians in America who are part of eligible non-profit organizations or educational institutions can be involved in applying for and receiving federal grants through their institutions.

Specific Programs: Programs like the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provide grants to Nigerian academics/professionals to conduct research at U.S. institutions, requiring Nigerian citizenship and the intent to return home after the program.

Scam Awareness: The U.S. government does not offer free money to random individuals for personal needs, and any offer of a grant in exchange for an upfront fee is a scam.

In summary, a Nigerian in America would need to meet specific, rigorous criteria related to their legal status and the grant’s purpose to receive a U.S. federal grant. There is no single “Nigerian in America for a US federal grant” as a general category; eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis through official application processes.

Meet Nigerian Prince Ifeanyi Ossai Nwabuonwu Idriss.

Last year, his company, located in his Texas home, received $1.4M tax dollars from FEMA for bottled water for illegals in NYC.

Hey Liz!

Any comment on the fact that it is almost exclusively muslims murdering Christians in Nigeria?

And Sudan?

You’re mighty quiet on those subjects over the last two years, where hundreds of thousands of Christians were murdered.
