YouTube TV viewers can no longer see Disney channels including ABC and ESPN after the two sides failed to agree on a new content distribution deal.

Other channels that vanished from Google’s pay TV platform include the Disney Channel, FX and Nat Geo.

Google’s pay TV platform said in a blog post late Thursday that Disney had followed through on a threat to suspend its content amid the negotiations.

Good.

Pretty much anything that hurts GoogleTube is something that helps me. If consumers cannot see so much Disney stuff on YT anymore then they'll stop clicking there - reducing Google's ad revenue.

Good, good, good.

Disney just bought Fubo TV, so I’m sure it’s to try to get business from YouTube TV.

It is getting like only having ABC, NBC and CBS in the 1980s.

Sounds like LGBT+ is arguing with another LGBT+ and “pulling” another LGBT+ into a nice contractual dispute. The lawyers are ecstatic.

Question: how many of us will notice anything in our TV viewing?

We subscribe to YouTube TV for $90/month because it’s a third of what Direct TV and Dish charge. We need it to watch FoxNews. If it weren’t for that, we’d just use what Amazon provides.

Question: how many of us will notice anything in our TV viewing?

Only Those who use YouTube TV.

9,400,000 subscribers (as of April 2, 2025)

On December 12, 2024 Google announced that its price has gone up again, this time from $72.99 to $82.99 a month effective immediately for new customers and beginning on January 13, 2025 for existing customers.

This not the first time for Disney/YouTube.

In December 2021, YouTube TV engaged in a dispute with The Walt Disney Company over a renewal in their contract, warning customers about the possible removal of ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and other Disney-owned networks should the two fail to reach an agreement.[61] Google and Disney were unable to renew their contract by the expiration date, resulting in YouTube TV’s first contract-related blackout.

What is the point of paying for Yortube if I cannot watch the Red Sox.

The same month, YouTube TV dropped NESN, which carries games for the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.

I’d love to see them bankrupt each other.

November 24 is my MNF football game. That’s 3+ weeks away. If it isn’t solved by then it’s kudos. I expect both sides have too much to lose. I close the account after the Super Bowl.

If you just need Fox News and a DVR to record show on it, you can subscribe to Fox One and get that along with all the other Fox channels (local Fox station, Big Ten Network, Fox Business) for $20 a month.

But Disney might say, that if you want ABC and ESPN, you have to subscribe to Fubo TV. Why wouldn’t they do that?

Dear Red Sox fan, number three in the American League standings is not too shabby.

As to "Only Those who use YouTube TV."

My bride and I have not, do not and will not notice. Our ISP provider keeps sending promotional materials, so I expect Google/YouTube is paying to get ISP types to push them.

I don’t think you can get regular FoxNews that way, though.

You do know you can just use a streaming box and subscribe to Fox directly using their app, right? It’s considerably cheaper.
