ROTTERDAM, NY (WRGB) — A Rotterdam woman is accused of threatening to shoot a Schenectady County legislator.
Josh Cuomo is running for re-election on the Republican and Conservative line. He says he was going door-to-door in Rotterdam with his family when a woman asked him if he was a Trump supporter. Cuomo says that’s when she started becoming aggressive.

Schenectady County GOP Chairwoman Liz Joy released a statement reading in part, “Every candidate, regardless of party or belief, deserves to engage with voters safely and respectfully. We are deeply grateful that Josh and his family are unharmed. The woman responsible has been arrested, and we trust law enforcement will ensure accountability. Our entire Schenectady County GOP Committee stands firmly against political violence in all forms and will continue to support a safe, civil, and respectful electoral process.”
Schenectady County Democratic Chairman Frank S. Salamone sent the following statement: “I have consistently spoken out against political violence. ... While elected officials must be accountable for their record, there is simply no place for violence or threats of violence in politics.”
A few days ago, Houston-area State Representative Jolanda Jones said she would “go across your neck” and made a finger slash across her neck.
Funny thing has happened when I’ve looked her name up several times, AI at first said no such thing was said. A few days later it brought her up but then got a bit snotty in the answer. A couple days later and it finally admitted she said it but the she didn’t mean it. Hmmm, smells highly of human manipulation in the answers. Not that I asked AI but it is always there with a nose in my business.

we trust law enforcement will ensure accountability.
