As the political establishment runs about with their hair on fire screaming about the upcoming horrors of a Mamdani win in the New York City mayor’s race, I laugh with delight.

Include political and social “elites” and I agree 100%.
First, lets get real. NYC, unfortunately like a lot of places in the country, is basically one-party rule. Therefore, whoever wins the primary has an enormous probability of winning the general election. The real fight is in the primary.
Everyone knows this. Everyone. I’m not the one who didn’t take the communist Mamdani as a serious candidate and basically handed him the primary election. The same is true for AOC.
So don’t expect me to cry because you NYC Democrats are too stupid -- lazy? -- to work to win the primary with someone you actually want to win the general. You get what you sow and I expect the results of this to be a spectacle of failure and insanity. And hopefully a significant learning lesson for the rest of the country.
Many fear the Mamdani win will empower the Democrats to copy him around the country. I hope so. Please re-read Mencken’s quote above.
And for my Jewish friends, it is difficult to have sympathy with your antisemitic plight -- which is likely to get far worse -- when you actively vote for a clear antisemite. I’m not the one who thinks in tribal ways. I don’t believe in tribes but what am I supposed to do if you and your tribe want to commit suicide? The blame lies with you, not me.
Mamdani is just beginning to spread his Islamist wings. NYC is about to see what Islam and life in the Middle East and Africa is truly like. Hint, Islam has a built-in hatred...

It won’t be a landslide, he will probably end up with less than 50%.
This race has been very instrumental in continuing to show that progressives still do not like socialists.
The media tries to lump the two together but this fact still remains true and it has been since progressivism came into existence 125 years ago.
This comment makes no sense in today's America. in 2025 USA, they are two sides of the same coin.
Hey, we were once told by an expert, “Elections have consequences . . .”
What is the difference ? Isn’t it just a matter of branding?
good riddance...
better to see what is in store for the future of this country
It says, without evidence.
I respectfully disagree with the premise that the Dims in NYC will learn from a life experience in a socialist hell that they vote for. Have the people of Detroit learned to quit voting Dim?
Leftists everywhere, pay the F attention.
You would never get on a plane that was built ignoring the laws of physics and aerodynamics, yet people are going to vote for a person who espouses ideas that have never worked in the history of man.
Unfortunately, most Americans do not know the history of these ideas because the socialists in education make sure you don't hear about it.
History has shown that when a city/state/culture reaches a critical level of decadence and hedonism, there is a brutal
reckoning. Perhaps afterwards New York will be reborn into something decent.
They are the same. You can throw in Communist too, all three are the same.

With all due respect.... you’re a frickin idiot, Mr. Conlin. The immense damage that will be done to all Americans and to America as a free, as-founded nation will probably be unrecoverable.
So ...to you and to all of those like you, who say they’re ok with and even happy about Mamdani being elected in NYC, I say.... to HELL with you all. It’s where you’ll end up anyway with that kind of sentiment and lack of concern for your fellow man as you put politics over all.
This is purely a semantic argument divorced from reality. The progressives of Teddy Roosevelt pretty much died out as a mainstream political movement by the 1920's. Their closest kin today intellectually is MAGA.
The term "progressive" as a popular political movement was revived in the late 80's, early 90's as a rebrand of "liberal", which Reagan had successfully turned into a perjorative. Since then, the term has been broadened to include those even further left, to the point where a great many socialist types and (sometimes) closeted Communists use it do describe their own beliefs.
I think Mom-Danny will win and NYC will get it hard with communism and a side of monkeypox.
I don’t think it has that much to do with progressives vs socialists. I think it has much more to do with muslims vs Americans. Mandani is only one of a growing number of muslims holding strong political positions, with more on the way.
The Virginia election has Ghazala Hashmi slated as Lt Gov behind Abigail Spanberger, a far-left socialist. Muslims are in Congress in increasing numbers. Populations are increasingly becoming muslim in Minnesota, for example, and there are other examples. Along with the efforts to teach our children that America is bad, there is a creeping influx of things that are boldly anti-American.
Socialists are aligning with muslims, IMO. Progressives are weaving in and out.
Actually the Communists were calling themselves progressives as far back as the Wallace Presidential campaign in 1948. Anything to fool the gullible.
“in 2025 USA, they are two sides of the same coin.”
If that were true there wouldn’t be Bernie vs the (DNC)world.
AOC and Mandani are not on the Team Hillary, Team Kerry, Team Schumer etc etc etc. And even Cuomo.
The line could not be more stark. Mamdani and Bernie and AOC are not deep staters,(and I say this in a very negative way) they have all IIRC called for the government to take over industry - that is, the takeover of the “means of production”.
“Seizing the means of production” isn’t a function of progressive ideology.
The progressives have never wanted that. That’s a very key phrase, this “means of production”. Government takeover of the means of production. That’s the very core, the very beating heart of socialism. “the means of production” - Those four words.
And again, I say this all in a negative way. Progressivism is very destructive. Still, its important to notice how different the two are.
It would be interesting to see the vote tally with the 800k non citizens removed from the mix. How utterly moronic.
What a choice. Cuomo is a disgusting and corrupt man whose crimes (genocide among others) should entitle him to 20 years in prison....at least.
I am almost 74. I hope I live long enough to see and enjoy watching the denizens of NYC chow down on the giant feces sandwich they are about to order.
As an aside, here is a short list of things I hope to see before I die:
The funerals of Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi. Along with those of the fake Jews Chuck and Bernie.
A worthy successor to DJT in the White House in 2028
Things I’d like to see but know will not happen:
The elimination of anchor babies (possible, extremely unlikely)
California broken into multiple states.
25 million illegals removed from this country
“Home Rule” ended for Washington, DC
LOTS of long federal prison sentences for LOTS of antifa and the other anti ICE terrorists (possible, not probable)
Every single celebu-tard who has threatened to leave the US, do so AND forfeit their citizenship.
The people of NYC actually learn the errors of their ways from their election of Mamdani
