A ruling from the Minnesota Supreme Court found that a transgender powerlifter was discriminated against when USA Powerlifting refused to allow her to compete in women's events. โฆ The Minnesota Supreme Court found the district court rightly granted partial summary judgment for Cooper on a discrimination complaint under a public accommodations statute.
Wednesday's ruling found that under Minnesota's Human Rights Act, USA Powerlifting's policy that prohibits transgender women from competing in women's competition constituted sexual orientation discrimination. โฆ However, the case isn't over. Justices also found that USA Powerlifting could be protected against one part of the claim because of the Human Rights Act that allows for exemptions for "legitimate business purposes." USA Powerlifting has argued that allowing transgender athletes who were assigned male at birth into women's competitions would create a disadvantage for other lifters.

A stupid daytime, court TV skanky lawyer who is running of the rails.
Tim Walz looks so young in that picture. I wonder who’s doing his makeup.
Okay. Keep digging deeper into malfunction, unequal treatment and state sponsored chaos.
It’s going to be up to the girls not to compete with any Tran-Bio-Males pretending to be women. Just say no.
It is unfortunate, because any such girls will be penalized and publicly slammed, but that’s the only way to stop this injustice from continuing. That Judge is drinking her own Koolaid, and believes all she has been told to believe by PC Minders.
Typical Democrat-Hive Mind behavior.
“...a transgender powerlifter was discriminated against when USA Powerlifting refused to allow her to compete in women’s events...”
HE IS NOT A “HER”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Years of rats running the state has made the Minn SC a total clown show.
I’ve lived my entire life in Massachusetts. I know everything there is to know about clown shows.
I identify as a competent driver so you must give me a license or you're discriminating.
I identify as a senior so don't discriminate against me when I want my Medicare now, even though I'm 39.
I identify as a teenager, even though I'm 39, so to deny me the chance to compete against teenagers is discrimination.
Absurd? Of course. But no more absurd than this court's ruling. Based on that, how can you say no to the examples I gave?
The decision is a deliberate misreading of law. Secual orientation is who you want to sleep with, gender identity is whether you think you’re a male or a female. The exclusion wasn’t based on whom the individual wanted to sleep with, but rather whether there were boy parts or girl parts. The law that was stated to have been violated regarded “sexual orientation” - whom one wants to sleep with - which had nothing to do with the exclusion.
So the MN Supreme Court is unanimously gaslighting everyone.
I know right! ๐๐๐
If you are selling a woman;s competition, then having government force you to allow fake women to compete at a competitive advantage makes it a difficult sell. End of case. If the competition is perceived as unfair, it affects ticket sales, sponsors and competition.
Now I suppose he wants a wedding cake too.
Seems to be an obvious case that as the Minnesota Supreme court interpreted state law, then the state law becomes unconstitutional against federal law and the US Constitution.
Ok so, they just don’t operate at all in Minnesota.
Appeal to the Supremes
Admitting that a persons biological sex is a valid determinant in decisions involving gender distinct sports is not “discrimination”, it is just common sense.
The “transgender” person who is a biological male is free to compete with other biological males. They are not cut out of competing, just out of competing against biological females.
