For nearly two years, the anti-Israel Left said Gaza was in the midst of a genocidal famine. They ignored the fact that Hamas, the governing body of Gaza, started a war with Israel in 2023 and then proceeded to start losing that war.
The narrative was set, and Israel was always the bad guy.
Except there was no genocide and there was no famine.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) is a "multi-partner global initiative and standardized scale used to analyze and classify the severity and magnitude of food insecurity, acute malnutrition, and famine conditions in specific areas or populations."
It declared a famine in Gaza on August 22. But the math just doesn't check out and the IPC is ā once again ā perpetuating a lie against Israel.

And here's my take on the casualties and suffering during war, especially in light of the fog of war (meaning expect propaganda). Have the Gazans/Hamas/"Palestinians" or whatever they call themselves surrendered? Nope. That means they haven't suffered enough.
That's ugly. But that's the reality of dealing with not just a government actor, but a culture hell bent on wiping you out. That's what Israel is up against.
How many Japanese were killed by the WW2 firebombing of Tokyo? Not enough for them to surrender. How many were killed by the first atom bomb? Not enough for them to surrender. How many were killed by the second atom bomb? Enough for them to surrender. Whatever anyone wants to say about the number of civilians killed in that war (either Japanese civilians or the Chinese civilians killed by Japan), the bottom line is that the first atom bomb and the more traditional firebombing evidently weren't bad enough to make Japan surrender. Thus the 2nd atom bomb was needed. And since WW2, the Japanese culture have been a very peaceful people. No American or Asian worries about Japan attacking them anymore.
Israel isn't there yet with Gaza -- a much more culturally determined enemy of Israel than we had with Japan.

even the precedent-setting Marshall Plan did NOT take place until the enemy was defeated and the territory retaken.

...and was that enough. The war did end after the 2nd bomb, but consider that Putin Sr. was coming in quickly from the North at the same time...that likely was a big contributor.
