Trump shoots down sending Ukraine ‘highly complex’ Tomahawk missiles: ‘Tremendous learning curve’

President Trump on Wednesday appeared to rule out providing Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles, arguing that the long-range weapons are too complex for Kyiv to deploy without substantial US training.

“The problem with the Tomahawk is – a lot of people don’t know – It’ll take a minimum of six months, usually a year, to learn how to use,” Trump told reporters during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.

“The only way a Tomahawk is going to be shot is if we shot it,” the president added.

“And we’re not going to do that.”

Trump’s interest in providing Ukraine with Tomahawks faded rapidly after a call with Putin the day before his meeting with Zelensky.

Tomahawk and Harpoon missile fire control is not that hard to master.

No, but missile fire control systems are all similar. I am sure their missile techs would be fine after a two week computer simulator course of instruction, providing they know English.

Which is the opposite of shooting a torpedo and hitting a target. Now that is frikkin hard.

ZeroHedge has an article in which their on site reporter asked a question of the NATO guy meeting with Trump. Synopsis, the NATO guy was surprised and Trump was sympathetic with the questions, not the NATO guy.

They could figure it out. Trump just doesn’t want to give them the missiles. Seems kind of obvious.

Top story WSJ

WASHINGTON—The Trump administration has lifted a key restriction on Ukraine’s use of some long-range missiles provided by Western allies, enabling Kyiv to step up attacks on targets inside Russia and increase pressure on the Kremlin, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

How about sending them artillery shells? That’s really what they need the most anyway.

Same excuse that Biden used. Learning curve for land-launched Tomahawks is 6 weeks, same as for ATACMS.

But who sets up and maintains the fire control system?

Even Hillary can press the red button.

The Ukies don’t have any artillery pieces left, nor any heavy military vehicles to transport the 152/ 155 mm shells which weigh 125 lbs apiece, their army has been reduced to using civilian vehicles.

The Ukies have been reduced to using exclusively drones which have virtually no HE payload....nothing still beats the good old fashioned 155mm HE shell for destruction.....and Vlad has thousands, not to mention his rocket artillery.

Even brain dead Joe refused long range missiles to the corrupted little man St Z. They would sell them off anyway.

That said, the guidance systems operate on advanced US nav systems.....falling into enemy hands would be a disaster. Remember when Iran captured a few of our Heavy drones intact?( 2 from memory- they have taken a total of six down). The Pentagon went into panic mode, having to reprogram and change much of our defense comms.

Trusting the corrupted little man in green would be worse than trusting senile Joe.

Your memes are outrageous, especially the one where St Z is playing the piano with his penis. How can anyone support such a depraved “ leader”? Says a lot about the Ukie war cheerleaders, they sure know how to pick them, but then they supported senile Joe and his war.

depraved /dĭ-prāvd′/

-Morally corrupt; perverted.
-Describing a person or action that is perverted or extremely wrong in a moral sense.
