On November 1st, the people who take our money to get free food are going to face the horrible crisis of no free food.

The "Big Beautiful Bill," passed earlier this year by Congress and signed into law by President Trump, creates new work requirements for able-bodied adults. In order to continue receiving tax dollars for SNAP benefits, individuals must work or train for at least 20 hours per week.

The ongoing government shutdown may also halt or delay SNAP and EBT benefits beginning in November, leavings tens of millions without "free" food.
The welfare recipients have taken to social media to let Americans know they are upset by this change.

Some are even threatening violence unless their fudge rounds continue to be provided to them free of charge.

If you want to help those who truly need assistance during the government shutdown, make sure to contact your local churches and food pantries.
Almost all of these are performative rageclick posters.
I’ve helped at several food pantries, and they are always *overflowing* with food from corporate donors and the like (to the point they give away stuff to the volunteers as well out of desperation). All kinds of stuff more expensive than anything I buy for myself. So I think folks are a long way from being in a bad situation just because of the shutdown.
This is what comes of not requiring certain people to fend for themselves for decades. It has now been ingrained in generations that believe the norm is to be babysat by the federal government.

Two of the times national computer system outages in the benefits card system caused cards to be declined at the checkouts, and there were considerable user feelings that were less than optimally pleasant.
