With Election Day two weeks away, all eyes are on Curtis Sliwa, as pressure grows on the Guardian Angels founder and Republican nominee to drop his mayoral bid.
Cuomo, who has consistently trailed Mamdani in the polls, has attempted to make overtures to Republican voters and has dismissed Sliwa as a “spoiler” in the race. In a recent appearance on Fox News, Cuomo addressed Republican voters directly, saying the mayoral race is about “the future of New York and saving New York City.”

The New York Daily News and New York Post editorial boards are both in agreement. They both published articles calling for Sliwa to suspend his campaign in order to make the race a one-on-one matchup between Mamdani, the heavy favorite, and independent candidate and former Governor Andrew Cuomo. “It burns to write this, but: It’s time for Curtis Sliwa to face reality, and admit that the city’s best hope to avoid the disaster of a Zohran Mamdani mayoralty is for him to drop out of the race, the Post editorial board wrote.
Still, local Republican Party leaders are standing united behind their candidate.
Sliwa got a boost on Tuesday when Republican Party chairmen from all five boroughs issued a joint statement reiterating their support for him. Republicans should not have to clean up the mess Andrew Cuomo and the Democrats created, and we will not allow the political class to interfere with voters or hijack our ballot,” the county leaders said. “Curtis Sliwa is our candidate, the credible leader who will defeat the radical left and restore safety, affordability,...”

Why doesn’t Cuomo drop out? He’s as bad as Mandami.
So Curtis drops out...why would anyone assume those voters would even vote? Or vote Cuomo?

Sliwa and Cuomo need to cut that deal. Sliwa drops out and endorses Cuomo, Cuomo makes Sliwa Chief of Police.
Have ballots been printed and mailed out?
Just thinking, even if he dropped out today, ballots with his name are out there. And some will vote for him even if he announced he’s not running anymore.
Cuomo would get maybe 20% of Sliwa’s voters. Everybody hates Cuomo. He’s just not Madani and Sliwa voters know he’s as far left and more dangerous than Mamdani. Mamdani hasn’t murdered anybody we know of yet.
I loathe Cuomo. But he’s a million times better than the commie

Good!! He shouldn’t have to resign. Let the man stick to his principles. He shouldn’t have to run away. New Yorkers will get either a corrupt murderer of thousands of senior citizens, or they’ll get a muzzie socialist who will be corrupt if he isn’t already, and cause people to be killed. The New York State Republican Committee has historically been MIA when it comes to running viable conservative candidates that would actually have a chance of winning. They are why New York voters are stuck with RAT Governors and RAT U.S. Senators, and a more than 2-1 RAT majority State Legislature. This State has more RED counties than Blue, yet it’s run by RATS, and I blame the New York GOP Committee for it. They’re useless.
So the Republican should drop out, to supposedly help fix a problem created by Democrats, and to leave only two Democrats to run for the job, one a marxist, and the other one who was already rejected by NYC Democrat voters

Cuomo should drop out, or form a unity ticket with Sliwa. He lost the primary against Mamdani, why should the Republican candidate drop out?
I think Zohran Madami pretends to be a Communist due to taqiyya.
Problem here, even if Sliwa dropped out, Cuomo will lose. And honestly, why reward Cuomo and why not allow New York City to experience the consequences of their votes.
Sliwa has always been a clown, now he is proving it again. He should get promised a job by Cuomo, then drop out.
Once that happens, Zohran Mamdani will consolidate his powers over over NYC once the Natives start to flee the Big Apple.
