The immediate question is, how did the FBI become aware of this ‘Hunting Stand’?
The 2 immediate conclusions: Either they were very lucky, and discovered the Stand just from usual random scanning of the area around any presidential appearance
OR, one of the FBI Agents became aware of something his fellow Agents have cooked up and are actively planning.
This particular FBI Agent was not on board with the goal, and decided to let ‘more responsible authorities’ know about it, instead.
It shouldn’t be too complicated to check for prints track down who it was sold to.

It’s entirely possible that the thing is, in fact, a hunting stand with no scare quotes.

They need to get all the evidence from it first. There may be DNA, finger prints, and more. If there isn't any, that would be even more important.
Maybe it’s time to consider terminating some people within the agency that are not flat doing their job. The intent of span of control of areas where the president frequents is the only part of the protection protection federal law under 18 U.S.C. § 3056.

somehow I doubt hunting is allowed 1/4 mile( a reliable shot distance for a decent shooter) away from any large airport
