Iran said on Saturday (Oct 18) that it was no longer bound by restrictions on its nuclear programme as a landmark 10-year deal between it and world powers expired, though Tehran reiterated its "commitment to diplomacy".
The 2015 deal - signed in Vienna by Iran, China, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and the United States - saw the lifting of international sanctions against the Islamic republic in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear programme. But the pact had already been in tatters after Washington unilaterally withdrew during President Donald Trump's first term, with Iran later pulling back from its commitment. The reimposition last month of United Nations sanctions at the urging of three of the deal's European signatories rendered the accord effectively moot.
From now on, "all of the provisions (of the deal), including the restrictions on the Iranian nuclear programme and the related mechanisms are considered terminated", Iran's foreign ministry said in a statement on the day of the pact's expiration. "Iran firmly expresses its commitment to diplomacy," it added.

Send them some pagers.
That’s laughable. They NEVER considered themselves “bound” by restrictions…
Not many weeks ago, they claimed they had no interest in pursuing nuclear weapons. In light of the current statement, that older, but still recent, statement seems like a lie.
AFTER THEY GOT THE CRAP BOMBED OUT OF THEIR MAIN FACILITY——THEY CERTAINLY ARE SLOW LEARNERS.
A REPEAT OF THAT EFFORT CAN BE DONE ON SHORT NOTICE.
Well, remember, the first time it happened was 1981 - Israel took it out.
And the US is no longer restricted in destroying them. Again.
Taqiyyah, in Islam, the practice of concealing one’s belief and foregoing ordinary religious duties when under threat of death or injury. It is merely another of the ways of lying that comes so easily to the Muslim nations. Getting an Arab or an Iranian to come to the table and confer honestly is like nailing Jell-O to the wall.
Iraq, Iran. What’s a letter amongst “friends”. Hint: it may be a Q
That was Iraq, and the Reagan Administration objected in a UN vote and arms deal suspension.
Then we are bound to bomb you towel heads back into the stone age. Draw when you ready, pardner.😁
“””Then we are bound to bomb you towel heads back into the stone age.”””
They never left the stone age.
Never was
LOL!! When were they ever “bound” by it?
Here’s a clue; in their own minds, they never were.
It’s restricted by B2’s.
Reagan was a great man. His Secretary of State...perhaps not.
To be fair, when we bombed them I think any agreement got all blowed up too!
OK. Can use every few years for bombing practice.
