Democratic party attorney Marc Elias on Thursday told MSNBC's "The Weeknight" that President Donald Trump is trying to intimidate his political "enemies" from being a meaningful and robust opposition to him.
MICHAEL STEELE, CO-HOST: Marc, Marc, here we go again. One more, right? What's your reaction, my friend, as the indictment counts seem to mount up here?
MARC ELIAS, DEMOCRATIC ATTORNEY, DEMOCRACY DOCKET FOUNDER: Yeah, look, I think that we can't overcomplicate this with all due respect to your one of your prior guests. The fact is Donald Trump came into office saying he's going to seek vengeance against his political opponents. He hates John Bolton.
He hates Tish James. He hates James Comey. He hates a whole bunch of other people who he is probably now going to try to instigate indictments against.
And the fact is, I don't much care for John Bolton. I really don't like James Comey. But the fact is, they are the victims of the weaponization of government against Donald Trump's political opponents.
And every time we engage in this sort of Talmudic discussion as if there is something more complicated going on than that, frankly, we're doing a little bit of his bidding. So I just I just have to say that at the outset, what's going on here is just the misuse, the abuse of the executive branch to go after Donald Trump's opponents, to intimidate people who he views as his enemies and to try to prevent there from being a meaningful and robust opposition to him.
CO-HOST: But Marc, I want to push back on you a little bit on the lack of the distinction that you're making between...

your turn will come marc
Marc, when every one of these “enemies” has at least two attempts on their lives, with at least one causing at least a flesh wound, and they also have failed prosecutions that would have both bankrupted them and left them in orison until death, then I could see your point.
Until then, these are simply seeking justice and no retribution or excessive penalty, against them.
These prosecutions are not happening from lies, as they did with Trump, either, so each needs some lies to enhance the penalties—I would agree.
There is no provision for one to break the law because someone of an opposing party is in power.
We’re just getting warmed up Elias. Get use to it ahole.
Says the guy who hired Fusion GPS to collect the phony opposition research on Trump that became known as the Russia dossier.
Real Clear Politics. Thbbbbbbbp! Try your Jedi mind tricks elsewhere, Ian Soros.
Elias lives in backwards land.
He should be disbarred and bankrupted.
Would love to see him squirm.
Watching him melt down on msnbc is priceless.
his turn will not come soon enough.
If anyone deserved to be snatched up and disappeared it is this Elias guy. And the eneMedia leftists happily ignore the genus of weaponization while they blame Trump.
Yeah, like I’m sure the FBI wouldn’t show up with empty folders marked “top secret”, drop them on the floor, take pictures and leak them to the press or anything.
The sticky sweet irony of this person accusations reek of the zombie hoards which follow him.
I hope Elias the money launderer is on the hit list.
I CERTAINLY HOPE SO
DOJ needs to go after Marc Elias.
Marc Elias has committed too many very serious crimes and is yet to pay for his crimes.
Must we now? Hmm.
The thing about the DemonRATs is that they think the people they hate think and act like they do and would think and act in the same situation.
The idea that someone would follow the law is a foreign concept to them.
