President Trump on Wednesday showed off a model of what may be his next Washington, D.C., development project, an arch that resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and is being referred to informally as the "Arc de Trump."
The president showed off a model of the arch at a White House dinner Wednesday night for a group of wealthy donors who are funding his White House ballroom project. Mockups he displayed bore the caption "Independence Arch."
"It's going to be really beautiful. I think it's going to be fantastic," Trump said, as he held a model of the arch. "There's a rendering of what it will look like. You have three sizes." He added, "I happen to think the large one," indicating his preference.
CBS News' Ed O'Keefe asked the president who the arch is for, and Mr. Trump pointed at himself: "Me."
The arch is to be built on the Arlington, Virginia, side of the Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River, between the entrances to Arlington National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial. The arch is supposed to be completed in time for the country's 250th anniversary celebration next year. Mr. Trump has a model of it sitting in the Oval Office.

I do not see any way for such a thing to be:
“...completed in time for the country’s 250th anniversary celebration next year...”
MAGA!
Make Arlington Great Again.
Correction:
Make Arlington GLORIOUS Again.
Executive power can do many things.
Albert Speer would approve I am sure of it.
“Albert Speer would approve I am sure of it.”
He’d really love Obama’s Presidential Center.
It’s a nice idea, but either a big one on the Mall, or several small ones on the main access roads into DC.
I would prefer the latter, just to piss off all the Marylanders who commute to DC.
The Pentagon was built in 16 months. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Trump has a hunger to celebrate and memorialize American greatness. It has been many years since we have had such a president. God willing, in years to come, we will be asked what it was like to be blessed with Trump as president.

Grandiose at best,
could easily be grotesque, depending
Will ABSOLUTELY infringe on Reagan National rwy 19 arrival
It is going to be Great!
(As long as it does not end like in Spinal Tap ;P )
Compare to Obama’s hideous Chicago atrocity Li iBARRY - one that I think is an intentionally, ugly permanent blackened middle finger to America. And not black as in race but dark with vulgarity, contempt and hatred. It is obama and his husband defecating on America, leaving a permanent turd for all to see.
It is part of the liberal, socialist, marxist desire to make art ugly and painful to see, taking out love, happiness and joy from people who see it.
He should not do it. It is a step too far.
Unlike Biden, Trump will “build new better”...Better than ever before.
I like it! It needs to include WwII victory and the Moon landings carved into the artwork.
Since Trump can’t run again is there anything he can do to top the list of his achievements? There is! Not once in American history has a Convention Of States been called. Trump could go state by state to lobby for it on the condition he would chair the Convention when called. That would put him up there with George Washington in greatness because Washington chaired the original Convention.
I love Trump’s audacity. In his first administration we celebrated the moon launch by broadcasting the launch on the side of the Washington Monument, which is about the same size as the Saturn V rocket.
From the launch to the landing to the touchdown, it was all shown. They only presented it five or so times over one week. It was an awesome event to attend to celebrate American audacity and ingenuity. Our son was able to join us. He was an engineer at NASA at the time and very excited about it. (He’s at a different space agency now)
I expect America 250 to be even more audacious and patriotic than this was.
