NewSCUM has shut down the 405 freeway for the next 6 months every weekend due to “Repaving” its a hassle and a huge inconvenience to the hundreds of thousands of people who commute to and from the valley to the Westside, I dont see the commie media complaining.

I believe that there actually is a gun range in Switzerland where the shooting positions are on one side of a major highway and the targets, remotely scored, are on the other side.

The books about Dwight Eisenhower report that he was in favor of starting a national interstate freeway and highway system to link cities and states for the first time, in the 1950s. Why? In case of national emergencies, the military would need them to get places quickly. Secondary use was for citizens and for business deliveries. Helped America grow.

The original federal freeway system, officially the “National Interstate and Defense Highways Act,” was built with a dual purpose of civilian efficiency and military defense. Key military uses included providing a rapid network for troop and supply movement, evacuating urban areas during a nuclear attack, and creating emergency landing strips for military aircraft along certain highway segments. President Eisenhower was a strong proponent, influenced by his WWI convoy experience and WWII observation of Germany’s autobahn network.

The long, straight, flat segments without medial barriers aren’t just there for “pedal to the metal” motoring.

I’ve spent years commuting “405” freeways.
One in WA state, the other 405 in CA, which I know
and prefer to call the San Diego freeway.
Your terminology is strange.
I grew up in the Bellflower/Downey/Paramount
areas and the San Diego freeway is a “West side”
freeway, not going from some eastern
valley to the coast.
Yes traffic there SUX!
I purposely requested swing shifts so
I rarely had to deal with the infamous
crawl.
But if previous Democrats
had made it out of Concrete
their kids would not have to
suffer for their Cheapness.

Germany’s autobahns helped our army move quickly from point A to B.
Concrete highways and VWs were part of their version of WPA in the ‘30s.

Commuters from the San Fernando Valley take the 405 through the Sepulveda Pass to Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Culver City and other West Side communities.

For some reason, in recent years, the Santa Monica Freeway is jammed every morning between Downtown LA and Motor Ave. Surface streets aren't any better. It wasn't long ago that if you were driving across LA in the morning, you would be sailing down the Santa Monica Freeway once you got past Downtown.

Newsom is a fool. “We hope the Trump Administration applies that same common sense to reopening the federal government!” Um, it is the democrats who failed to pass ten motions to open the government. Stop blaming Trump for the govt. closure.

“Concrete highways and VWs were part of their version of WPA in the ‘30s.”

There weren’t any VWs built by the Nazis except a few prototypes, and the autobahns weren’t finished until after the war. A lot of the labor went into the Westwall and other military projects.

Gee, hope Trump does not fire the Marine Base Commander when he hears of this.

All it takes to shut down a highway for a few hours is a handful of people sitting on the highway with a Just Stop Oil banner. Newscum would never think of opening the highway for that.

Helped America grow.

Destroyed countless middle class business, which in turn destroyed small middle class towns, dispersed families, broke up churches, led to the rise of unaccountable corporations with no loyalty to either community or country, the pressure to drop the day of rest and put COMMERCE ahead of family and faith; led to the rise of organized crime on a global scale, and led to the cultural rot we see today. In exchange the false sense of security, we lost our spirit.

God save us from the do-gooders.
