The leader of Canada’s most populous province called for economic retaliation on the U.S. after auto company Stellantis said it was moving planned production of its Jeep Compass from Canada to the U.S.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford blamed U.S. President Donald Trump for the company’s decision this week to shift production of the SUV from Brampton, Ontario, to Illinois as part of plan to invest $13 billion to expand its manufacturing capacity in the United States.

The comments come as Canada is negotiating to reduce tariffs. Trump has been urging the Big 3 American automakers to move production to the U.S.

“That guy, President Trump, he’s a real piece of work,” Ford said. “I’m sick and tired of rolling over. We need to fight back.”

Fat, ugly and stupid is no way to go through life, ‘Thug’ Ford. One can be easily cured. The second may be ‘cured’ with costly surgery. The last however, is permanent. Time to consider MAiD, ‘Thug’.

It’s Doug Ford’s job to give Stellantis a reason to stay.

Obviously he didn’t do that.

It doesn’t help to blame your failings on someone else.

The Canucks can't compete in a free market, notice they too blame Trump for everything just like our dems rather than the majority of the US population.

LOL: Potentially offensive: When used by a non-Canadian, the term can be considered derogatory, especially due to its historical use as a slur, specifically in the US.

I hear Tata Motors is looking for a foothold in Canada, Doug. Or maybe one of the Chicom companies.

the Big 3 American automakers

GM, Ford and Tesla?

Stellantis is Fiat + Peugeot and based in Holland. At the time of the merger, the two biggest stockholders were the Agnelli family (Fiat) and the Peugeot family. Robert Peugeot is Vice Chairman of the company.
