It’s a small, but mighty sign: “Everyone is welcome here, except I.CE.” Katherine Duncan, owner of Katherine Anne Confections, fastened it proudly on her shop’s front door.
“It was a no-brainer for me,” Duncan said on a recent Wednesday afternoon, hours after she put the sign up at the storefront on 3653 W. Irving Park Road. “I feel so helpless. With my business and my kids, I can’t escort students to and from school or other things like that. So it was like, well — what can we do?”
In recent weeks, Chicago has seen an increase in Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions, which have been met with significant criticism from activists, local government and community groups, spurring protests, legal challenges and a new executive order from Mayor Brandon Johnson creating citywide “ICE-free zones” to push back against the federal crackdown. For restaurant and cafe workers, many of whom are immigrants, the looming threat of unannounced visits by ICE, which have already led to arrests in restaurants, outside grocery stores and in the parking lots of businesses in Chicago, has created anxiety and uncertainty about their future.

Liberals are pathetic.
Loathsome, illogical, repulsive and smelly, but most of all...pathetic.
Oh, and the nose rings and colored hair.......
“It was a no-brainer for me,” Duncan said “
Then you are the perfect Democrat..............
And the town where I was raised came known in the old days to display signs throughout...”HELP WANTED, NINA”
For restaurant and cafe workers, many of whom are immigrants,
Thanks for telling us where to find you....
Nice try, lady, but you can’t keep cops off of your property if there are criminals committing crimes there.
Again, they haven’t learned. Go WOKE, Go BROKE!
“Everyone is welcome here, except I.CE.”
Ya, that’ll stop em. /s
Chicago is doomed. They have a mayor who is nothing more than human waste, and the public seems content. No recall, no talk of a new direction, just a public dancing to the tune called by Johnson. Trump is trying to help Chicago fight their crime problem, and what happens? Protests. I guess Chicagoans demand their crime be left alone?
Try putting up a sign that says:
Everyone welcome except faggots and trannys
Public access is in the license...
Bake the friggin cake, bigot!
“Katherine Duncan, owner of Katherine Anne Confections”
I buy her marshmallows to send as gifts every year. Not anymore.
Take the family and make a moderately large order.
Then...when delivered to the table, tell them you have decided not to endorse their political positions.
Leave.

So, “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” signs are back in vogue now?
No sign says to me, put INS agents outside on the public sidewalk then “everyone going in or out must present their papers….. that will be great for the business….. 🤣🤣
A relative few of the residents of Chicago may have personal reasons for refusing the help of an outside agency in controlling the chaos from the lawless character of daily life, but the governor of Illinois and the mayor of Chicago do not consider this to be a priority either. JB Pritzker accuses the Trump Administration of being “authoritarian”, but does not explain how his own behavior is NOT “authoritarian”. Brandon Johnson (for whom the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon!” is fully applicable), fails to raise his sights higher than to provide “affordable housing”, without regard for the criminal activity routinely overlooked on the streets and in the neighborhoods.
Chicago is an unsafe city, and neither the governor nor the mayor are taking ANY steps to change the situation.
Here’s an idea drop every criminal immigrant into Chicago and then make it illegal to leave. If they leave they’ll be arrested truly make it a sanctuary. State.
Make sure you tell her.
Against the law. Shut them down.
“ With my business and my kids, I can’t escort students to and from school or other things like that. So it was like, well — what can we do?”
This is their primary example?
What is she even saying?
