The blast took place just outside of the bustling LAX airport and was seen for miles across Los Angeles after it ignited at the Chevron refinery in El Segundo, police said.
Firefighters arrived to the scene at around 9:35pm local time, several minutes after people in surrounding areas reported hearing a loud blast.

With all the lawsuits and regulation that will strangle Chevron, Chevron should just call it quits in California and move their operations to Texas.

This possibility should not be discounted. If you had to select just one target, where would it likely have most impact?

Don’t Californians make a dozen of their own blends of gas that only they use? So if there is a stoppage, would it only affect them. Saying this as someone who is admittingly ignorant of the logistics of oil and gas in this country.
On a lighter note, didn’t Calis also all buy electric cars so this shouldn’t matter? Haha
