It’s no coincidence after his meeting with reps from the Middle East.
He didn’t say why, but I think I know. Christine Douglass-Williams wrote about the latest from the mercurial president here, and here is more: “Trump: I will not allow Israel to annex Judea and Samaria,” by Elad Benari, Israel National News, September 25, 2025:
US President Donald Trump stressed in a conversation with reporters on Thursday that he will “not allow” Israel to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
“I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. No, I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen,” Trump replied firmly when asked by a reporter about the issue.
Asked whether he spoke about it with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about this, Trump responded, “Yeah, but I’m not going to allow it, whether I spoke to him or not. I did, but I’m not allowing Israel to annex the West Bank. There’s been enough. It’s time to stop now.”
Are you shocked? Of course you are. Here he was, Donald J. Trump, the man who moved the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, recognized Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, and has had his diplomats at the U.N. General Assembly defend Israel, and at the Security Council, veto the endless series of anti-Israel resolutions. But Donald J. Trump always likes to keep us guessing. In fact, he likes to keep himself guessing, because you often have the feeling he has no idea what he’s going to say next, and whether he means what he says, or possibly is just sending up a trial balloon to see what the reaction will be, in order to determine his next move. He’s erratic. But we know that there are two steadfast stars in his firmament...

They can’t annex what is already a part of the country.
It’s like annexing Tennessee would be to us, today.
More like Bosnia-Herzegovina over a century ago.
Trump is probably doing Israel a favor here. Because if Israel annexes the West Bank, what would they do about the millions of Muslims who live there?
They will demand the right to vote. Give them that right, and they will destroy the delicate balance of Israeli politics.
Don’t give them that right, and Israel becomes an apartheid state.
As I see it, the way things are right now is probably the least worst of all the options.
🙁
It’s Israeli territory.
West bank belongs to Israel past present and for eternity.

Bibi has plans to send them to other countries.

Probably a nest of reasons. One, Abdullah is only 20 meters away in Jordan and doesn’t want a single Palestinian Arab fleeing into his turf. Two, Gaza is still white hot. Three, another kinetic front would require more aid to both sides. Four, if you thought the rioters in the Ivy schools were rowdy recently, add more war and see what they do.

Thanks for the link. But why in the world would any country want to take in those trouble-makers? It’s not like most of them are skilled tradesmen or highly-educated engineers.
And why would they want to go in the first place, and leave the land of their forefathers?
Perhaps the answer to both questions is money. Pay each “Palestinian” a huge amount of money to leave. And pay the receiving country a huge amount of money to take them.
Where would all that money come from? I’ve got a bad feeling it would come from the US taxpayer.
Right. The West Bank BELONGS to Israel.
Trump is off on this one “BIGLY”.
Muslims can vote in Israel. There are actually 10 members of knesset that are Arab. Not all of them are Muslim but some of them are. Muslims actually have more rights in Israel than any other country in the Middle east.
> Muslims actually have more rights in Israel than any other country in the Middle east. <
Yes. And that’s a credit to Israel. But it actually makes the annexation idea worse. Because Israel would end up with three million more Muslims. All of whom would eventually have those rights.
I sure don’t see those folks behaving as responsibly as the current Arab Israeli citizens.
What a mess.
True
The “Palestinian” “forefathers” moved there within the past century. Contrast that with Jews being the largest group in Jerusalem even when it was still controlled by the Ottoman Empire before WW1. Most of the “Palestinians” didn’t move there until they were kicked out of neighboring new Muslim nations for trying to take over their countries (shocking, I know).
Yes, I agree. But I don’t think it matters much. A young “Palestinian” lad is now living on the land that his parents and perhaps grandparents lived on. He considers that land his.
He’s not going to leave just because historically, the land was Israel’s.
As I noted elsewhere, I really don’t think there’s a workable solution to this problem. There will just be continued tension and low-level violence… forever?
You always see Freepers say, "I don't even have to look."
I am white, but I see white people doing all kinds of stupid things, and violent things. Every time there is a mass shooting or a serial killer, should they say, "I don't even have to look."
As much as some Freepers say the rate of violent crime is so much higher for blacks than white, but the difference between whites and blacks is smaller than the gap between Asians and whites?
Should Asians consider us whites animals or feral? Facts are facts.
Sorry, I posted to the wrong thread.
It’s already an apartheid state.
The people in the West Bank are under the control of Israel and have been for 60 years. Israel controls the border, airspace, movement, security, much of the physical territory and regularly conduct military operations throughout the territory.
Not to consider that an apartheid state is ridiculous.
Saudi Arabia is actually and ally of Israel, they just don't want mostly their own people to know. But they know Iran is a threat to them, not Israel. And Israel fights Iran in ways Saudi Arabia and the U.S. would like them to, but don't want to take credit for that.
