Sadiq Khan hit back at Donald Trump last night as he made light of the US President’s allegations of Sharia Law in London. Mr Khan had Labour conference goers in stitches at a party in Liverpool last night as he heaped praise on the host city.
The London Mayor joked: “I love coming to Liverpool. I love the football. I love the food. I love the people. Plus it means I get to take a break from the Sharia Law in London.”
It came after President Trump used his speech at the United Nations General Assembly to attack Khan.
He said Mr Khan is a “terrible mayor”, adding: “Now they want to go to Sharia law. But you are in a different country, you can't do that.”
Sir Keir Starmer defended the Labour mayor, insisting that while he agrees with President Trump on “plenty of things… there are some issues on which we disagree.”
“What the president said about the mayor, who's doing a really good job, in fact driving down serious crime, what he said about the introduction of Sharia law was ridiculous nonsense.
"I support our mayor, I'm really proud of the fact we have a Muslim mayor of a very diverse city.
"We do work with the Americans on a huge number of issues. On this issue I disagree, and I stand with our mayor."

I don’t think Trump said they had sharia law in London. He said they [muslims] want to go to sharia law.
He’s pretending to be a moderate muslim because he knows that the PM is bringing sharia to the UK and after it’s well established sharia will show what it’s really like.

That’s like a Mafia Don making what he thinks is a ‘joke’ and nobody around the table gets it but him, but everybody present pretends to think it’s the funniest remark ever said. They laugh so hysterically, that after a while, he has to order them all to finally ‘Shut Up!!’, which they all will immediately do.

Exactly right on your post Plain Talk. President Trump made it clear that the mayor wanted to impose sharia law in London and, of course, the slimy arab limey knows good and well the truth. Not funny in the least.
I may be wrong but my take on the London mayor is that he is a globalist commie wannabe. Not even sure he could be considered a devout muslim. Probably a cultural muslim and not a true believer (yes there are differences and I have worked with both flavors).
In any event it doesn’t matter. You can never know or trust a muslim. Khan is a politician and when sufficient voters want sharia law he will want to give it to them. Probably same with the NY muslim dude.
Heck — our democrats would give them sharia law if they provide them enough power to make it worth their while.
