A disturbing Halloween display in Houston appears to show effigies of federal immigration agents wearing red MAGA-like hats hanging from gallows — drawing backlash just days after surging anti-ICE rhetoric led to a deadly shooting at an agency facility in Dallas.
The shocking front-yard display in the majority-Hispanic Second Ward neighborhood in Harris County showed the red hat-wearing mannequins strung up on a noose from homemade gallows that featured a small Mexican flag, Fox News reported.
The figures’ attire — black shirts, tan pants and face masks with zip ties in their pockets — drew comparisons to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Two coffins flanked the gallows, and a hangman mannequin wearing a straw hat and colorful poncho stood over a fourth dummy that appeared to have its hands tied. Halloween display depicting two mannequins hanging from gallows and two on the ground, with coffins and a Mexican flag.
The sick display is cordoned off with barbed wire fencing, video showed.
Tens of thousands of social media users expressed their outrage at the jarring exhibit, with one extremely agitated X user writing in a viral post, “This hateful display will likely be inciting violence. It goes past free speech. Arrest who did this.”

“Appears to show”?! This should be considered a direct threat to do bodily harm and worse. This is NOT freedom of speech!

What if they were hanging black people and the guy on the ground is in a Klan robe?

The NASCAR “noose scandal” refers to a 2020 incident in which a garage door pull rope, tied into a noose, was found in the stall of Bubba Wallace, the only Black full-time driver in the NASCAR Cup Series. The event happened just weeks after Wallace had successfully advocated for NASCAR to ban the display of the Confederate flag at its events.
The incident and initial response
Discovery: On June 21, 2020, a member of Wallace’s race team found the noose in the garage stall assigned to them at the Talladega Superspeedway. Wallace did not discover the noose himself and was informed by NASCAR officials later that day.
NASCAR’s swift reaction: Believing it to be a racist threat, NASCAR condemned the act, launched an immediate investigation, and contacted the FBI. The entire racing community reacted in solidarity with Wallace. The following day, all drivers and their pit crews collectively pushed Wallace’s car to the front of the grid in a powerful display of support.
Wallace’s reaction: Visibly emotional, Wallace expressed gratitude for the support but remained steadfast, stating, “This will not break me... I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe in”.
There was no black man hanging from the noose, in fact it was a grab loop.
There is nothing “what is this” about this, it is what it is.
APPEARS? That’s not the right word for this hateful display. This is a death threat to ICE agents my Mexicans who should be arrested and immediately deported.
A lot of people now know about this depiction of violence.
Next step should logically be to identify who’s property it is, who put it up there? I’m still waiting for that show to drop. If a liberal was being hung in effigy, the property owner would already have been doxxed, interviewed and either arrested or fined. The display would have already been destroyed.
My first thought was that it was pretty foolhardy for these illegals to draw this much attention to themselves.
