A 24-year-old Venezuelan man, Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, posed as a 16-year-old and enrolled at Perrysburg High School in Ohio, using fraudulent documents, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
Labrador-Sierra submitted false birth dates on applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025. He also used false information to purchase a Taurus G3C 9mm semiautomatic pistol, which he was not legally allowed to possess due to his immigration status.
Labrador-Sierra first entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in 2019 and was supposed to return to Venezuela later that year but did not. He applied for Temporary Protective Status in 2021, which expired in 2022.

A 23-year-old man is in legal trouble after he pretended to be a high school student for years. Police say a Ukrainian born Artur Samarin was actually in his 20s when he enrolled as a high school freshman in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Samarin started attending classes in the fall of 2012 using the alias Asher Potts. Students at the high school say he seemed like any other teenager. Police say Samarin may have even had sexual relations with students.
He now faces several charges for a series of crimes.
Police say he had already graduated US high school and attended college in the Ukraine.
They say the US schooling he received is valued at $40,000.
