Hopefully an end to this half-activist, half-entertainer, full fraud.
Jimmy Kimmel’s indefinite suspension from ABC feels less like censorship than comeuppance. The comedian who once built his reputation on gleeful political incorrectness now finds himself hoisted by his own progressive petard, pulled off air after suggesting Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer was a Trump supporter rather than what he actually appears to be — a far-left fanatic with a taste for blood.
Don’t confuse this for another cancel culture moment. It’s the predictable end of a peculiar American transformation. (RELATED: Pull ABC’s Broadcast License? After the Last Few Days? Hell, Yes!)
Kimmel began as comedy’s carnival barker, hosting The Man Show with a beer-guzzling, breast-ogling sensibility that would make a frat house wince. Back then, he was authentically awful. A puerile provocateur who never pretended to possess deeper wisdom. His comedy was crude but consistent, offensive but honest about its own emptiness.
Then something shifted. Maybe it was Hollywood’s gravitational pull, or maybe Kimmel simply spotted his opportunity at the peak of cancel culture. He needed an off-ramp from his frat-boy past, and he took it. The transformation was jarring. It was like watching the class clown demand to be valedictorian. One day he was celebrating “Juggies,” the next, he was lecturing America about healthcare while choking up over his son’s surgery.
The contrast with his former co-host, Adam Carolla, couldn’t be clearer. Carolla stayed what he always was: a blue-collar contrarian with steady convictions and no taste for respectability politics. Love or hate his rants, he never betrayed himself. He is still the guy fixing cars and griping about traffic, just with a louder microphone. He built a podcast empire on the very authenticity Kimmel abandoned. Carolla may be cranky, repetitive, even reactionary...

We know about Jimmy Kimmel.
What we don’t know about is who really killed Charlie Kirk.
The only thing I remember about Kimmel was Win Ben Stein’s Money.
Actually we know exactly who it was.
But wait. There’s more!
I keep hearing that ABC is considering bringing Kimmel back on the air if he will “apologize” for what he said about Kirk, and if he will make a sizeable donation to some organization devoted to non violence.
Not many other details.
Some shows are kept on by artificial means, long past their Due Dates, just to continue the propaganda messages. Girls, directed by Lena Dunham, Saturday Night Live, for the last decade or two, that dull shopworn “Comedy Show” that replaced Roseanne, to name but a few.
Years ago, I had to do long drives in the dark, so I got satellite radio. There were three comedy channels, the only thing I was interested in. Then Bush II got elected and two of those channels did nothing but bash Bush. It was not funny. It was tiring and puerile. The other channel...don’t recall the name, but it was all “you might be a ringneck if...” material. The problem was there wasn’t enough of it. So, I cancelled satellite.
The whole problem with entertainment is it has become 100% politics. Politics is as entertaining as watching someone pop pimples. I haven’t watched a movie or TV since the OJ trial.
This soon after a major political assassination, with so many contradictory facts, and you think we know who did it?
Same thing with sports, which are supposed to be an escape from politics.
High level political assassins create their escape.
It includes creating a fake assassin to help the real one escape.
Then they tell everyone to shut up and stop questioning.
Really liked this article. Well written and interesting points.
“This is not the age of Johnny Carson or Jay Leno. It is the age of TikTok, livestreams, and podcasts. The networks no longer command the culture”.

Kimmel self immolated because his contract was up and instead of getting fired for low ratings, he wanted go out a Hollywood 1A martyr. Disney better not relent.
“ What we don’t know about is who really killed Charlie Kirk.”
Here we go with the idiotic conspiracy nutz again.
If you’d prefer, I’ll just accept what I’m told and not question the authorities?
He's no comedian, he hasn't been a comedian for a long time. He's only a joke reader sticking to a script, and a dispenser of one-sided agitprop thinly disguised as moral pontification, while preening his wokeness to satisfy the democrat left which is all that is left in his audience.
No one except the hard core democrat leftists give a damn about his show and most TV viewers would be happy to try someone or something else in that time slot.
Alternate nick for a recently zotted poster. OCD sets in after some zot time.
“Kimmel self immolated because his contract was up and instead of getting fired for low ratings, he wanted go out a Hollywood 1A martyr. Disney better not relent.”
Exactly, he started out like a comet and then sank by about 30% in audience share. The politics story was a convenient cover.
He engaged in what the Left called “misinformation” which they tried to deplatform.
He’s still on the payroll... he’s not been fired. It is called suspension. He suffers no pain until his employment is terminated.
